He doesn’t respond to emails eventhough he claims to have read the emails as indicated in the billing statements and then charges for it but it is not evident in court that he read those emails. When you call, they ignore your calls, it takes calling with an unrecognized phone number to get hold of him or his legal assistant.
A one page amended order take Mr Dittrich a month to draft even after several reminder.; a proposed order that could have taken less than 5mins to draft. Mr Dittrich lied to me that his legal assistant has drafted it and it’s in a pile somewhere. When i finally got hold of his legal assistant, she declined ever drafting the order and informed me that Mr. Dittrich has been out of office sick since a particular date eventhough i still spoke with Mr. Dittrich that very day his legal assistant stated he was out of the office. What a disconnect in communication!
I retained Mr. Dittrich to represent me in couple of legal matters due to judicial economy. However, when I noticed his nonchalant attitude and ridiculous charges, I decided to separate my case and I can tell you, it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
After substitution of counsel, Mr. Dittrich could not come up with a Case Transfer Correspondence for the substituting counsel because he had no documentation to reference. All he had was his timesheets but no specific notes.
He is a one man show without any back-up strategy. If he is out of the office or sick, everything stops and God help you if you have an upcoming trial!
He creates an atmosphere to make it look like you are difficult to work with eventhough he refuses to advocate for his client’s needs.
In conclusion Mr Dittrich has a strategy of low retainer to acquire customers but he is ineffective and inefficient in his process which eventually leads to huge legal fees. Don’t be fooled if he spends two hours free consultation with you. You will severely pay for it in your future bills.

If you are looking for representation when it comes to mediation, Mr. Dittrich might be your guy but when it comes to high conflict cases and litigation, I will advise you to look elsewhere especially when you are paying someone more than you’re earning. As a client, it is your attorney’s judicial responsibility to advocate for your interest. In my case, Mr. Dittrich would rather advocate and preserve the interest of the opposing counsel while also trying to sabotage my relationship with my stakeholders. He is the most expensive attorney I have ever retained in my years of legal battle yet the most inefficient and ineffective. Here are my reasons:
Discussing my case with other people without my prior authorization. Forwarding my email to other stakeholders without my consent with the intent to sabotage my relationship because I separated my case from him and he is bittered about it. Removing me from the communication thread to purposely discuss and damage my reputation.
His processes are not lean; he spends more time talking on the phone and racking up attorney fees rather than documenting. He uses process servers in place of emailing subpoenas; courier services instead of sending documents electronically. You have to call his bookkeeper everytime you want to make payment when he can easily setup an electronic payment system and email you a payment link. His processes are just so archaic. This is 2022 for goodness sake.
He seems to have a cold feet especially when it’s close to the trial date and will look for every reason for you to settle even if his client has the upper hand. He’s always looking for a way out of court even when he is well aware that this is a high conflict case; making endless phone calls even when the opposing counsel is ignoring his calls. Guess who pays for this? His client.
The moment you indicate you intend to resolve you matter in court , he stopped listening and started doing things against my wishes and in his own way. This is include but not limited to:
Proposing options in court that I have already declined was not to my best interest during our meetings and also in writing; knowing fully well his options are of a disservice to me.
Drafting a proposed order and sending it to the court without my approval as agreed upon. I only got to find out when I received my billing statement.
Despite a direct instruction from the judge, and after several emails and phone calls to his office, it took him a month to draft a proposed order and ended up going with the opposing counsel’s suggestions against mine which is basically at my expense and detriment. All he could have done was to adopt the format of the last order from the court and just modify it by including just one more line. Instead, he created an epistle of line which included so many back and forth, another crafty way for him to rack up legal fees.
His legal assistant lacks the courtesy of emailing or acknowledging emails when Mr. Dittrich is out of office.
Refusing to adhere to the request of judge because he was ill prepared for my case and it appears he doesn’t want to go back in front of the same judge because of his incompetence. Instead, he started pressuring me to voluntarily dismiss my case after his office had charged ridiculous amounts in legal fees. A day before my trial, Mr. Dittrich initiated and eventually succeeded in postponing my trial date because he doesn’t have a particular report. Not only does he now has this particular report, he has two favorable ones to work with, yet he is pressuring me to go for dismissal after several resources, time and money has been spent on preparing for the trial and his reasons are just so lame. He claims he doesn’t want the opposing counsel to attack me. I thought for a second if I have a representation because that’s not a valid reason for anyone to dismiss their case. I thought my counsel was supposed to defend me.
