Unfortunately I had a very bad experience trying to work on a Small Estate Affidavit with Jennifer. She was quick to respond and schedule a consultation.. and initially, I was confident in choosing her over the other lawyer I spoke with based on price, knowledge, and the way she portrayed herself on her website. But after the first chat, it took nearly a month to get a response (1/27-2/21). I was waiting for her to validate my father’s Last Will and Testament and answer some questions, so eventually I went ahead and called her receptionist. She got back to me 2/21 and at this point I made it clear I was going with her and asked for the intake forms she kept asking if I wanted sent over. Maybe I asked too many questions? Maybe my case was too low budget? But that second exchange in February was the last time I heard from her. She validated the will, sent a very helpful response to which I replied immediately and after another month of waiting I was STILL planning to stick with her. I sent a couple more emails and left messages with the receptionist throughout March-April trying to get these intake forms sent over so we could just get the Affidavit filed. June rolls around and I finally gave it up and started searching for lawyers yet again. Within 1-2 weeks, over a holiday (the 4th of July) no less, I had the entire process completed with another lawyer who I’d now recommend to anyone. It was so quick and simple. This kinda case may be low budget- but talk about easy money for a lawyer. I just have to say, this experience was the least bit helpful to me after losing my father and dealing with his estate on my own. I can admit that I had plenty of questions starting out but there was no excuse to drag things out and completely dismiss me the way she did.
