I came to John Wagner at Turken and Porzenski after having a difficult experience with a previous lawyer. My initial visit with John, he specifically told me "I don't think there is much chance of your situation changing, and I don't feel right taking your money for a case that I know won't gain anything for you." I valued that honesty greatly. Which is why 6 months later, when things actually did change, I came back. And this time John said "now we have a case, and now this is the right time." The details of the case are not important, but suffice to say that John knew that what I wanted to do, and what was right to do, were different. He advised me correctly to act quickly instead of waiting. He advised me to document and collect all the correct materials, and to hire a GAL for the case. In court, he helped convince the judge and GAL that I was good for my daughter, and as a result I now have custody of my daughter. I think most positive reviews are because a case is won. Even if it didn't turn out this way, I can say that John reduced my stress and anxiety a million fold, because he was always available to communicate and talk me off the ledge when I was worried or angry. He even restrained me from sending an angry letter to the opposing party. Our experience was so great, that even my mother (not a party to this case) wrote him a letter to thank him for making this (otherwise stressful) experience, not just tolerable, but manageable. Everyone says "I know a good lawyer!" And so do I. If you need family law, at least give this firm a call and request a consult with John. And tell him I said so.

John was incredible. After dismissing my original attorney, he was finally able to bring get the other party to the table and bring closure to a simple divorce that was dragging on forever. I would definately recommend them to anyone for family matters.

John an Sam are so responsive to any question you may have no matter what day, as long as you have an email address he will respond and he knows the LAW! Selecting a family law attorney can be very difficult and it seems that many want to tell you what you want to hear. That isn't the case with Joe Porzenski. Joe is honest with you when setting expectations and won't sugar coat anything. I really appreciated this with Joe. I also felt that Joe really cared about me and my situation. I could feel that he was in it with me and wanted to get the best outcome as if it was his own situation he was fighting for. He understood what was most important to me and fought hard for that.
