This, is there anything very professional on the surface. After our consultation, we were happy to pay to retain her. Unfortunately, after many attempts to call her and email her, we'd never heard from her again. We even went as far as reporting her to the bar

Attorney Truitt is a ghost of an attorney. I hired her for a case and she neglected to show up for my court date and never reached out to communicate why she missed. She hired a third party answering service and you're not able to reach her directly. I've left several messages via email and phone and she has yet to return my calls.

This lady held a meeting at my church this Saturday, she was very, very disrespectful, telling us the members to shut up, said she was going to sue the church, if we didn’t pay her. First of all the church never hired her, was not voted on to hire her. The pastor took upon hisself to hire her, which he should be responsible for her payment. I understand lawyers are tough, but there is a difference between tough and being downright disrespectful. She also stated that we are not a congregational church, which is not true, since we are not a congregational church per her statement that means the Pastor is null and void, because the congregation voted.. She also brought up The Union in the church business, and the church is not union, what happen to the statement of separation between State and Church. She will not ever be recommended as a lawyer.

Shira Truitt was exceptional, and I would recommend her to everyone! She explained everything fully up front, was easy to email any questions, prompt with returning phone calls or information regarding my case, qualified in both Illinois and Missouri, and her demeanor was perfect for my case, a great balance of professionalism, understanding, and she definitely wasn’t like my last attorney I had to let go. She came into my case FIGHTING, made sure my marital agreements benefited me, ensured I was able to claim my kids since I was paying for healthcare, etc. I would highly recommend Shira to anyone and will use her again if needed.

I paid for our consiltation on a very easy case. She seened very professional and I was very excited to get her help. I sent her a check for my case and the documents she requested over 4 months ago and havent heard a single word since. I have called 8 times, made 2 appointments she didnt show up for. SO disappointed in such a high level of unprofessionalism. BEWARE!

From the initial phone call from Ms.Truitt personally until the time our consultation ended, Ms. Truitt was compassionate, extremely knowledgeable, kind and professional. In the first conversation, I was put at ease. After meeting her in person, we were convinced that we were definitely speaking to the right attorney. She listened intently, respectfully addressed all of our concerns and made us feel completely confident that she could and would represent our case well. She was AWESOME and we are grateful to have met her.

I have hired Ms. Truitt to handle a bogus traffic ticket. She was clear as to the options and swiftly handled the matter. She is superb! She is the only attorney I have recommended to my family and friends and they have had no issues with her work whether it be a child custody matter or traffic. I hope I don't need legal services again but I know where I will go if I do!

I could not have been happier in choosing Ms.Truitt as my lawyer in dealing with an awful situation with my ex business partner. Very responsive and knowledgeable. She gave me great advice and was honest with me on the possible outcome good or bad, based upon some bad decisions that I made in going into that partnership. What I admire about her is that she is a hard worker and will not let obstacle's stand in the way of getting the information that you need. The original custody plan I had in place for my daughter was every Tuesday and 1 day every other weekend and in my opinion that needed to change. It was October of 2011 when I first met Shira to talk about representing me in trying to change that plan to something, at the very least, fair. She was willing to take on my case and went to work right away on it. It was a long 2 year process but she was there every step of the way. She spent countless hours working with me either at her office or on the phone to make sure she had all the eggs in her basket. With what seemed like 100 different court dates in the 2 year span she was there early each and every time. Public speaking was never a strong point of mine so Shira made the time to prepare me for all the court dates. I had to admire her knowledge and confidence in herself when we were faced with different changes. We were assigned 3 different judges and the opposing party changed attorneys at least 5 times, which at one point she had 3 attorneys at once!! That didn't bother Shira one bit she did what she had to do while making sure I did everything I was supposed to (filling forms, meeting with GAL, etc.). After numerous court dates and late nights Ms. Shira Truitt was able to get the job done. My new custody plan is 50/50 physical and sole legal custody for important decisions and 50/50 for all other decisions. She even got my child support to go from $433/mo to $0/mo. There's many other details that I won't get into but bottom line is she really did a good job and I cannot thank her enough. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for an attorney with the knowledge, dedication, commitment and guts it takes to get the job done.

I was cited with a photo traffic violation in a construction zone in Belleville in May 2013. I was confident that there was no work in progress at the time of the infraction, but was required to make a court appearance. SInce I live 7 hours away from Belleville, I hired Ms. Truitt to represent me. On the week of my order to appear in court, Ms. Truitt and her staff overcame moving their office and unexpected communication problems related to the move to effectively prepare for my case. She successfully protected my having to take a day off of work and make a 14 hour, overnight round trip for the court appearance. Additionally, she was able to negotiate getting the charge completely dismissed. Her efforts saved me a lot of money, time, and personal expense. Highly recommended.
