I used this firm to assist with my name change. Extremely slow, didn’t feel like I was taken care of, I had to remind them to keep me updated on where we were in the process and to not forget certain filings.

I was very impressed with Mr. Betz’s service. He was the GAL for my children. He was very professional, fair-but-caring and advocated tireless for the children’s best interests. He took his time to talk to them about their wishes, giving us sound advice and guided us through an otherwise contentious process. I appreciated his professionalism, ethics and would highly recommend him.

My son and I have worked with David Betz for several years in custody matters concerning my grandson. I have found him to be genuinely concerned with our situation and responsive to our needs. He listens carefully and handles matters promptly. He is realistic in evaluating situations and helps us to arrive at the best possible alternatives. I highly recommend him for family law matters.

We ultimately prevailed at the end with 100% custody and a judgement in favor of the petitioner for support, with heavy stipulations in place for visitation. STAY AWAY. My fiancé is currently in court proceedings once again, this time with a new attorney David Betz representing the children as GAL. She just finished a 4 year battle prior to this new case, with her narcissistic, manipulating ex making false allegations through the entire 4 years. Things you couldn’t even imagine. 4 years of it! 15+ DFS investigations, criminal investigations, lie detectors, counselors, etc etc! She ended up on the winning side through that battle. Now, in less than 3 months, and absolutely no thorough investigations on her exes current allegations, Mr Betz’s swayed opinion has completely reversed the decision the last judge made. Mr Betz says he only handles the most complicated cases in the area, and I don’t understand how when he can’t see through the lies and manipulation of a narcissist. These children deserve a better representative than Mr. Betz and yours do too. If this attorney is appointed to represent your children, I highly suggest fighting to get that changed. Very disappointed that he is able to make life changing decisions for children who can’t speak for themselves. Will definitely be contacting others who have had similar experiences and fighting to keep this guy from ruining children’s lives even further. BTW, we have no affiliation with Jenna C who left a similar review. We just have a situation that seems very very similar to hers.

David was super helpful in getting all of my questions answered. He was kind and patient while I explained the situation I was dealing with, and outlined numerous options and avenues that I had as choices. He didn't sugar coat things and was honest where he thought struggles would appear in the case, and talked through best and worst case scenarios. He also was nice enough to offer additional phone calls if more questions came up while choosing how to move forward with the case. I would highly recommend talking to David about your case if you need a family lawyer, as it's obvious that he is kind, and extremely knowledgeable about family law and the complications it can involve.

Went through an incredibly challenging custody battle recently in Missouri. It is unfortunate that my children's voices went unheard with David. My understanding of GAL's is that they are able to see through the manipulative tactics of a narcissist and fight for the best interest of the children. In this case, the other parent of the children was using the children as pawns in this incredibly difficult legal battle and falsely accusing the mother of the very things he was responsible for. Instead of truly choosing to see the situation for what it was, David chose to turn a blind eye to his tactics. As a result of the expenses associated with David and the legal system, the mother had to settle with a custody plan not in line with what was truly in the best interest of the children based on the historic actions of the other parent. It is painful and unfortunate that attorneys like David are allowed to make life changing decisions for children caught up in legal battles. If you are in an incredibly difficult legal battle and want someone to actually fight for your children, David is not the man.

I have all the world to say about this man. He helped me piece my life back together.
