I had no idea what to expect during my Adoption process, yet Joan assured me that she would be there every step of the way; and she was!
The adoption of my little ones took longer than normal due to the COVID pandemic and court closures and postponements, yet Joan kept me abreast of any and all updates.
She returned my call and answered my emails promptly and didn't mind me calling her on her personal cell, number which she provided.
I am very thankful that I chose her law firm to represent me during my Adoption processes.
Official New Mom!🙂

Joan and I worked together on a recent case. Joan showed a thorough knowledge of domestic relations law and advocated zealously for her client to obtain a successful result. I strongly recommend Joan.

HORRIBLE REPRESENTATION, TAKE HEED TO THE REVIEWS ON HER BEING LAZY...VERY ACCURATE. If I could leave ZERO STARS I most certainly would. Very lazy in the whole case, never gave information on what to expect or briefed on when going to court or during court. Reviewed all of the documents given to her over the course of several months on the day of the hearing which caused her to be uneducated on what all was involved in my case and what I wanted out of the case. The day of the hearing she asked me to come in so that we could go over things about 30 minutes prior to the time of my scheduled court day, she ended up being 45 minutes late, causing us no time to go over anything or discuss what I wanted. I felt I just paid her money to have a name that represented me. She did absolutely nothing to represent me as my attorney. However, she charged for many things such as emails each time she sends them or contacts the opposing attorneys, never informed me that there were additional fees of any sort. Her work and representation was so poorly done I lost my case and walked away with nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, to someone that most certainly should not have gotten anything as well as won the case, due to her misrepresenting me and being uneducated and unprepared for my case. Many of the evidence given to her was not submitted to the courts and the Judge, all she did was add it to the folder collection and added it to the bill. By her not submitting important documents to the court it not only allowed me to loose my case to an idiot, but I am unable to speak on any of that when I filed for a retrial. She was so horrible I had to report her to the OCDC, Horrible all the way around.

Joan was absent much of our case. She was also extremely bias and had open communication with only one party in the case. She never conducted interviews with all parties listed in the parent information packet completed by either parent. She was very unprofessional during court proceedings. She argued with the bailiff about having access to the court room when neither the judge, nor the clerk nor any of the parties were on the courtroom and both parties and their attorneys were waiting patiently in the lobby. I was embarrassed for her, because she looked like an entitled little brat. She wasn’t knowledgeable about the case, the communities where the parties resided, the condition of their homes or other caregivers and she didn't execute any of the duties outlined in the order of the court that appointed her. Basically, she’s trash and shouldn’t be allowed to serve as a Guardian for anyone in Saint Louis County or City. She doesn’t care about the children’s best interest. She only arrives to collect fees for hours billed on work she never did. We only met with her twice in Clayton, in a conference room inside a shared suite at a real law firm that she sublets meeting space from. I would give zero stars if I could. She's also racist. She prefers the child's step-mother over me because she's bi-racial and well...I'm Black. My opinion has nothing to do with the court's ruling. If Ms. Coulter had done her job and the end result were the same (not in my favor), this review wouldn't exist. But of course she would rather deflect in her response below. I actually gave the other attorney who represented their father a good review because she did her job better than anyone else in the courtroom. She didn't need the additional help of a bias GAL to help her.

I am extremely displeased with the services of this attorney. She was the court appointed attorney for my friend and met with the client only for 15 minutes or so before the court hearing. During her meeting with the client, I have observed that she did not seem to be interested in presenting the client's case for the child's custody, neither did she question several inaccurate statements made on the Hearing Summary that we brought to her attention, which would have undoubtedly changed the outcome of the hearing.
