Cordell & Cordell heavily advertises nationwide about their services for males going through divorce. I hired an attorney Mary Wisehart from the Indianapolis office. My experiences with the representation Cordell assigned to me was terrible. Not only are the charges excessive the work performed was less than professional. I received multiple emails around 3 a.m. from my attorney and some made little sense. They were unorganized and not pertinent to what I had requested. To make matters worse duplicate emails were sent to multiple emails. Of course I was charged for these. In fact, one document was sent at least for times that I had already signed and returned. My attorney was on vacation prior to my preliminary hearing and came back the day before court. To my surprise she was not prepared. The day of the hearing I received a text message 30 minutes before we were to meet at court asking if I would run to kinkos and print off documents. For weeks leading up to the preliminary hearing I had asked my counsel what she needed? Asking for additional witnesses and information the day prior to court is not properly representing the client. To top matters off during the preliminary session I was asked to write down any comments I might have while the opposing counsel and judge discussed matters. I explicitly wrote down two very important aspects financially about my divorce and my counsel failed to speak up. Now I have had to get new counsel and attempt to reverse a ruling that never should have taken place based on the financial data we had. I was completely taken advantage of and misrepresented.

I used them and they gave me a person that only had 3 months experience when I was told 2 years. It could tell.

Do not use this law firm! They specialize in driving up court costs to make money. Protect your family from these hacks. Any decent family man would not put their family through this. My ex-husband spent more than our entire worth for an 11 month divorce process. He settled the day of trial for a 50/50 division. Our kids had to watch their mother go through this long process for no reason. Don't do this to your family. I blame Cordell & Cordell for giving my ex-husband unreasonable guidance.

When one goes to an attorney, the receptionist should NOT be in wrinkled clothing. She looked as though she just rolled out of bed. Very disappointed.

Stay far, far away. I had to open an internal investigation with Cordell and Cordell on my case because nothing was being done and I was continuously charged $2,000/month. I eventually fired them and went to a new firm who reviewed my case, and upon review, agreed Cordell and Cordell did the bare minimum. If that’s not enough to convince you to stay away from this firm, the day I had court I bumped into a man who just happened to be using the same new lawyer as me. I told him my story about Cordell and Cordell and he had the exact same thing happen to him; bare minimum effort, he was being charged $2,000/month, and he had to fire them because nothing was being done with his case. Normally I wouldn’t go on google and write a review, but I wish I had seen a review like this before I wasted my time and money with this firm. I hope this prevents someone else from doing the same.

Sara Marler represented me in my dicorce. This was a very difficult time in my life. She was very patient with me and always listened to what I had to say. She was amazing to work with and she stuck to her promise which was to take care of myself and my children! I highly recommend her and her firm, you won’t be disappointed!
