Honest, transparent and timely

Beck & Beck have been very helpful with dealing with the Tort Victim Compensation Fund after the death of my son. They keep me informed of what's going on with the case and return phone calls in a reasonable time-frame. Have had some mis-steps, (like the lawyer that was supposed to be in Kansas City for the first court date being late) but all in all, I've been happy with their work. Losing a child is the most painful thing anybody can live through and although I loved him dearly, his death left me with significant debts that he had owed me. Being on SSI, paying the loans I made to him back to the bank continues to be a struggle but I am hopeful that when my case is finally settled, I will be able to at least reduce that financial stress. I lost David on Dec 31, 2020 and still feel like I haven't been able to fully grieve his loss because his debts are still very much alive. Every month I'm reminded of everything I have lost. That may sound cold but I can't think of a better way to explain it. The vast majority of the insurance (that I was paying for) went to the woman who had filed for divorce more than 2 years prior to his death but it hadn't been finalized and despite her assurances that she'd help with his debts, I haven't received a dime. Meanwhile, she has a great paying job, a new house and had moved on to a new man before he was even killed. Life is not fair, but I am hopeful that with the help of the caring attorneys at Beck & Beck, I will be able to put some of this behind me and eventually move on.
