honestly went back and forth wondering was this the right choice to file. Went to another firm first and was treated like a number and honestly left out feeling disgusted and disappointed with what life has handed me. I l ready had grief in my life because of medical bills and a few other things. Started to give up and just let life take its course on me as I didn’t want to speak with anyone else about it. Came across Licata and figure the worse they could do was match the level of mental anguish the last firm had placed into my life. Completely different experience. Mind blowing how a business in the same category can treat you completely different. After the first consultation, I felt like a burden was lifted off my shoulders. They not only worked with me but sat aside 2.5 hours to go over everything with a fine tooth comb. The process with Licata was so straightforward and clear that a month after my discharge date, I’m still in awe that it was that simple. They gave me a chance at life again. If my family lived in this region of Missouri. I would send everyone to them. If you’re reading this, tell them “their favorite person” referred you. (I gave myself that name, not them lol) GREAT PEOPLE GREAT PLACE, GREAT LIFE AHEAD OF ME!!!

You know what, jokes on me for driving an hour away with my newborn and 18m old for a consultation. I looked past all competing attorneys in my own area simply because this Law Firm’s website was very thorough, reviews were great, and thought there were some great smiling faces I’d be met with that I saw online. I would like to say that my brief experience with the paralegal was great, she was kind on the phone, when I walked in and the ONLY smiling face I got. Sadly, however, my experience with Jesse was… off. I can sense the energy people give off very well and felt like he was not eager to help me. I was already scared of my decision to file for bankruptcy, felt some relief reading Marc’s letter I was given to read while I waited in the waiting area, and then when he came out to greet me I never even saw a smile. Either a) he was having a bad day, b) he was annoyed my kids came with, and/or c) this is his personality? Either way, the entire consultation was very dry. I would have thought from seeing pictures of his children on the wall he would have been at least somewhat enthusiastic with my daughter that was being curious at times during our visit. I knew going in that Ch. 13 would be what I’d file for, and even had the retaining fee ready to pay, but just thinking about my initial experience with Jesse makes me not want to dread the next 3-5 years if every interaction is going to be like my consult was… ultimately it felt like I wasn’t appreciated by him for coming in. I was looking for a personable experience for such a daunting decision, a very serious one I was ready to make finally. I understand there’s probably tons of people that come in for the free consultation and never show back up, I can see how that might make them less than fun for attorneys in the sense that’s it’s wasting their time, but I drove an hour away with my children, that in itself should say I’m very serious about filing. Jesse wasn’t mean, he wasn’t rude, he just lacked personality… enthusiasm, a smile. I apologized for being 10 min late to the appointment, I should have known better to leave a little extra early with Springfield traffic and I even called and let the paralegal know I would be just to be courteous. I’m truly disappointed that our interaction couldn’t be different. As a young client, I really needed a smiling and reassuring face to walk me through this daunting process… Jesse was cut and dry, straight to the point, didn’t try to get to know me for just 5 minutes, no “thanks for driving an hour to meet me today”… just not a good fit for me. Not for the next 5 years at least or $3,500 in post-petition fees. I had no problem with the fees, but smile like your business card, would ya? And look like it too. That’s how you earn people’s business. Wish I could have met with Marc.

Bad experience at Licata. Told me to wait for his schedule availability and I did with checking in some, it was a nine months literal wait for an appointment. Then he was unwilling to answer questions in my appointment, and talked over the top of me, and was rude. He wanted to say he knows what questions people are going to ask before they come in. But my question was different and I wasn't allowed to ask one question without him talking over the top of me, being rude etc. Then he said my case is very simple. Which I already knew that. He had already agreed on email to represent me before I drove four hours, two hours each way for the appointment. I also had a medical condition and he only offered one appointment date and time and said either attend or find someone else, that was after I waited nine months for availability. Then he continued with rudeness and not listening in the appointment. Then he said to have someone call and ask the trustee a couple of questions, which the trustee even said that's the attorney's responsibility. But one of my professional physician did call and did his job for him and answers were provided to mr. Licata and trustee was on board with everything. But then he just didn't help me for no reason other than he didn't want to. And my case is very simple with no kids, no real estate, no taxes owed, no alimony paid or received, and no assets or boats etc. Very simple cause. And this is how bad I was treated by Mr. Licata himself. He also was disrespectful and interrogated me in the appointment with unnecessary questions about my injury causing me to be on disability and disrespectful comments, which is irrelevant to the case. So if anyone else is looking, I can recommend to go anywhere else if you want someone professional and respectful. It's hillarious his response below denying everything. I have it in writing and it can be proven. Other people involved can attest to it as well. He also disrespected me multiple times and was condescending just like he is below in his reply. haha. Say what you want, I have it all in writing. His office also directly refused to honor a disability accommodation for attending the office and refuses to assist any client with a disability. I did not expect free but also did not expect to be refused as a client due to a disability. There's plenty of professional attorneys. I paid cash to an attorney for my case. I was willing to pay, and I did. It's entirely inappropriate and not professional to refuse to assist someone because of a medical disability that was informed to the office in the beginning. Their office refused to do an accommodation so appointment could be attended as well, which the request was just to turn off the tv in the lobby and talk quiet around me. I was informed this would be done, but it wasn't done. A professional office doesn't have music and tv. He also argued many things and was rude. Disrespecting someone due to a medical disability is not appropriate either. He's also controlling saying he had no appointments available when his secretary said there were several appointments available because his office is not as busy. But he refused a reschedule due to medical reason, and this was after waiting for him for NINE months. He says an issue came up. There was no new information or issue, just his mistreatment, disrespect and being not professional. He expects people to worship him thinking he's really something. He is nothing more than a man that buttons his clothing like everyone else. He has no respect for people and is controlling to the point that i could not ask one question. Find a professional. There's many options. Don't waste your time here.

They got me in for a consultation within just a few days! Jesse made sure that he answered all of our questions with great explanation on every thing.
