Kathleen Neary is a top notch lawyer. Twice she represented me in discrimination and retaliation cases. She was always there for me. I was very lucky to have her. My positive results would not have happened with out her. If you want a lawyer who will work hard, not disapoint you, you want Kathleen Neary. Thanks again Kathleen.

I was hit by a car and needed to hire a lawyer once I started to get phone calls from the driver's insurance company. I was overwhelmed, could not work, had medical bills and now, household bills piling up. I checked with some friends who had hired lawyers and Kathleen's name came up. I met with her and she became my lawyer. During this tough time, she reassured me, worked with the hospital and physical therapy facility so they would not contact me for payment (this case took some time). Kathleen's dedication to my case paid off with a settlement that was very fair and compensated me for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. Kathleen met with me for my depositions, but also kept in touch just to see how I was doing during this tough time. I appreciated her hard work and her caring about me as more than a case.

I hired Kathleen to sue an insurance co. that refused to pay for my medical care. Kathleen told me to "go home and heal, forget about the accident, just concentrate on getting better". I specifically asked (after scouring the internet for advice) if I should or needed to keep a "journal" along the way (which in the end I think would have been Very Emotionally Healing). Instead I followed her advice which was "no". So I didn't. Two years later, after I had been financially crippled with huge multiple monthly medical payments, she called to say it was time for a disposition. I called that family member (as instructed by Kathleen) and asked if she gave a statement recently, and she had that day. I conveyed everything Kathleen told me (nearly verbatim) and she - at work as well - burst into tears with me on the phone. She was so upset she had to leave work for the rest of the day because of our phone conversation (which Kathleen told me to have with her right before hanging up on me). Yes you read that right - before hanging up on me. To say this woman has zero professionalism is an understatement. When I had collected myself, I called Vince Powers directly. It was a short conversation. I told him who I was, that Kathleen was representing me in my claim and the disgusting verbal abuse I had just endured on the phone from her. He said "well when you hire a lawyer they work for you, not the other way around", "I'll look into this" and hung up. He had not put my mind to rest, so I immediately opened the phone book and called another attorney to find out what it was going to take to fire Kathleen and hire a new lawyer. This is when I found out Kathleen could step down from the case upon my request, but still ask to be paid for "services rendered". Not five minutes after speaking with Mr. Powers, Kathleen called back. (I was on the phone with the other lawyer.) Knowing it was her calling on the other line, prior to picking up the phone, I called two co-workers into my office and answered the call on speakerphone. Unfortunately, after speaking with other lawyers in town, they all warned me about her and advised to just "stick it out", which I did. The day of the deposition she pinched me and kicked me under the table (hard) when I didn't answer a question the way she thought I should. In the end, her law office took 33% of my settlement, and I vowed to never cross her path again. I advise every one to ask other attorneys of their opinion of Kathleen Neary before hiring her. My personal advise is to steer clear.
