Going through a divorce is the most brutal thing that I have ever experienced. During times that have been incredibly hard and where I have felt extremely low... I remind myself, "I am glad I chose McGill Law". McGill Law has saved me from what could have been huge missteps and I truly feel that my attorney has my back. Through every very step of the way, McGill Law has shown to be knowledgeable, experienced, capable, professional, and they quickly to respond to my questions and issues. I highly recommend McGill Law.

Theresa was very committed to making the collaborative process work during my divorce. She’s extremely knowledgeable about the process and laws, and does a great job of keeping expectations realistic and then delivering results. I’ve worked with Theresa multiple times and would certainly hire her again.

If you are high risk, meaning you have switched lawyers previously within the last few months or have open criminal legal issues, they will schedule a consultation but cancel it citing “an emergency hearing came up” even after I specifically asked the person scheduling who also went and asked someone else at the firm before scheduling the consultation.
A waste of time, emotions, stress, anxiety, etc during a malicious divorce process.
They are not helping the women who are in need of help, just the ones they deem not high risk.
I survived but did not get a fair or equitable treatment in court with my case, bye Felicia!
Their marketing is a bit skewed and so are their tactics.
P.S. if you don’t act like a victim, you won’t get representation.
This is for my first time divorce ladies who are fiercely independent.
You’ll have to put aside the survivor in you if you want help from any legal firm in this town.
This firm is no exception.
I am a survivor but they don’t care about survivors.
My experience here and with other firms is living proof of preferential treatment.

My experience at McGill was exceptional. Taylor Matthias was my attorney and helped me with a difficult situation with a family member. She was really fantastic throughout the 18 months it lasted. I always felt supported, heard, and never judged. She really clarified the issues for me, helped me to see alternatives and, just, generally, was an ally when I really needed one. I hope not to need her help in the future but I would not hesitate to seek her advice or another attorney's at McGill Law. Thank you!

Really overpriced for what got done on my case, which was honestly nothing. My original lawyer left the firm a couple months in to my case and I was assigned someone else on choosing to stay with the firm, a decision I kind of really regret. No court dates or anything went on during the last few months but I was still being charged a lot for things. 60.00 for every email I received, even if it was just a couple of lines. So billing seems off and very generic like the attorney just assumes it takes this long and charges that flat rate. I also feel like my children were never advocated for. The original court date I went to with the lawyer, I never even got to speak to the judge they just went in to his chambers and set a court date months out. My concerns for the kids well being during visits was never really addressed. My ex ended up dropping the case. By that time there was just the one court date a couple of phone calls and mainly emails for communication. Nothing changed in my decree and it cost me over 6k. So if you're a single mom struggling I don't think I'd recommend them, you're probably better off going with an independent lawyer who wont nickel and dime you with generic charges. Super disappointing

I hired McGill Law to handle my mom’s probate case in June 2023. The attorney assigned to my case, Sarah, left the law firm 2 months into the case. I was provided an option to stay with McGill Law or take my case elsewhere. I chose to stay with McGill Law. Big mistake. I was told the attorney assigned to my case, Bethany, would be brought up to speed with the case and I wouldn’t be charged for the update. I’m sure the case was reviewed with the new attorney, but found I was being asked for information that had already been provided to the initial attorney. I was charged whenever she asked for duplicate information. Paperwork was submitted to me for review and to sign off on that was incorrect. One legal document had a different client’s name on it. Another document was sent to court without my signature. That document was returned to the attorney by the court. I was billed and charged on December 12, 2023 for review will and process inheritance tax worksheet. Since I was billed for the work, I assumed the inheritance tax worksheet had been submitted to the court. It wasn’t. I was provided the inheritance tax worksheet on March 26, 2024 for review. I asked for an explanation of why I was charged in December, but just now receiving the paperwork 3 months later. No explanation was provided. To make matters worse, the calculations on the inheritance tax worksheet were incorrect and had to be reworked a couple of times. The inheritance tax worksheet initially had the wrong exemption on it and the tax due was incorrect. Error after error was made. I was told this was not the norm. I can understand making a mistake but the mistakes were made continuously through the duration of the probate case. I called Douglas County Court on June 10, 2024 to find out the status of my mom’s probate case. I was told the judge signed off on May 9, 2024 and the next step was the attorney had to prepare the closing documents. I emailed the McGill office on June 10th wanting to know if anyone was working on the probate case since the court signed off one month earlier. Within 40 minutes of sending my email, the closing documents were emailed to me.
If I had to do it over again, I would have went with a different law firm. Perhaps one that specializes in probate.

McGill Law was recommended to me when I suddenly found myself in need of an attorney to help with a matter in jeuvenile court.
Deziree Medina (and her team) was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She helped me navigate the minimum of what I needed to do legally, and helped keep me informed of everything that was happening in regard to the case at hand. She was always readily available for any questions I may have had. I am very grateful for all Deziree's assistance and professionalism.
