There were 16 five-star reviews when I last checked, and I am number 17 to also give her a 5-star review. That tells you something. Tehan knows the law and is efficient in representing her client(s). She displays all those great qualities described in the other reviews and more. I know she was totally committed to me and my case in the way that she communicated regularly and personally with me. Still, she is a no-nonsense lawyer who will give you homework and communicate with the court to let you know the status of your case. She explains court postings from eflex. My Ex threatened to bankrupt me. Tehan used the law to protect me. It wasn't painless, but what was done, she did in a way to provide the best outcome for me and my financial stability. She advocated fiercely on my behalf. This may sound corny, but Tehan is a hero of mine. I am very grateful to have had Tehan Slocum as my counsel. You will be glad also! "if you don't like it, find another lawyer"., that's what she said when we dared to question the quality of representation on our case invlovling the well-being of children. She "represented" my wife in a case against her ex husband. She happily charged my card so I'm leaving the review. We spent money 20k +, with no real action. Some highlights: -They make you do all the work (We had to personally draft and edit the motion. (No guidance) -She does not look at the evidence -She talks a big game in person, placate you on the phone -She does not know how to form a strategy -She placates you when you ask questions -She makes you repeat yourself and charge you for it -She has comprimising relationships with opposition lawyers -She does not care about your problem -She will push you to settle a crap deal -In addition to doing our own motion, we had to settle the case on our own with opposition, whcih is now costing us, becuase she wouldnt do the work. Still got charged. Over the course of almost two years we slowly realized our retainer kept getting sucked dry and there was nothing to show for it. It is difficult to find a lawyer in Reno, even more difficult to change. Bottom line, if you want to pay for a glorified paralegal, go ahead, but be prepared to basically represent yourself, do all the work for it, and have no real guidance on how to handle problems. From the day we walked in she discouraged my wife, told her there was no hope, but we actually won despite her leg dragging, but again, we did all the work. Mikyla did nothing. She quit her firm without saying a word, left us hanging.

An attorney that cares about the law AND her client. Small, boutique firm delivering personal service from Tehan to the client. No waiting for return calls and emails. Tehan stays on top of the case and tirelessly advocates for her clients. This is truly a different/better experience in a lawyer.

I was referred to her by another attorney stating she offers lowers down deposit fees. After going on her website I saw that she claimed to be very caring to fight for her families that are in need during a family law case. Once I got on the phone with her she would barely allow me to speak a sentence to her without interrupting me and saying “So are going to book this appointment?” She did not show any compassion or care towards a potential client at all and for someone who is going through severe trauma this caused me a lot of distress. I called the attorney who referred me to her and told them the experience I had and they too agree that was not professional behavior and will be taking her off their referral list. I hope she was just having a rough morning or something and is not always like this to people but to me she was extremely unkind.

Mikyla Miller is my attorney representing me in Family court in a custody/guardianship case. Mikyla is very dedicated to her clients, very honest and takes pride in her work. Her whole team is amazing the response to questions and concerns are amazing. Tehan Slocum is a excellent attorney to have on your side when you find yourself on the wrong side if the law. She has extensive knowledge and expertise in NV law and can plan for any outcome possible. Very professional and personable. Easy to get in contact with. Quickly responds. I have unfortunately needed Tehan Slocum for over three years now. She is worth every penny and I could have not asked for a better advocate to be by my side with everything I have gone through. My friends and I fondly refer to her as our "doula lawyer" and comes with high commendations. I have her on speed dial and will tell anyone needing a family lawyer to consider her first!

Want a lawyer who thinks she’s RBG but is closer to Lin Wood? Want a lawyer who went to a third tier law school and acts like she went to a first tier school? Want a lawyer who will berate a sales person for doing their job and asking to speak to a manager when she’s the first to pick up the phone (What‽ You don’t think a woman can be a manager??) and then brag about it like it’s a badge of honor? Want a lawyer who will virtue signal all day long but will turn around and use her limited Spanish to tell every latino person she even briefly encounters her name is like the one in a popular latin song (because all latino listen to the same music, right?)? Want to be berated about pronouns rather than have someone work on your case? If you want all this and more, hire Mikyla. If not, hire anyone else.
