I could not recommend MacDonald Law enough!! What I thought would be a relatively easy family court case, turned out to be a very long nightmare. There were many unexpected events and throughout the whole process, Fred and Corey remained calm and always had my best interest in mind. Their prior law enforcement careers were definitely a bonus in my case, and they were always able to give logical advice and were very thorough in explaining things to me. If you're trying to get custody of your child definitely do NOT use this practice. Fred was trying to force me into signing a parenting plan saying it's "the best option I'll get". I refused to sign and I'm so grateful I didn't, it turns out I would have had my child 30/70 with no child support at all. He truly would have screwed me over. Thousands of wasted dollars. Do NOT use this practice !

Cory McDonald, Fred Hoystradt, as well as the whole office staff were great. Fred helped me with my divorce as well as other related issues which required immediate (emergency) attention. Fred was there and did his job well and with ease. The total price charged monthly was fair and reasonable. I highly recommend this firm. Their demeanor makes a huge difference in these types of battles. Their prior police experience comes through in many aspects, most importantly in the courtroom. They keep things clean, honest and fair. They know how to fight for you but wont stir the pot to create more work for themselves like a lot of other divorce attorneys. Very happy with the results Fred was able to provide for me moving forward.

I recently had a great experience with “MacLaw” as they guided me through the divorce process. They really stepped up to the plate when false accusations were being presented. Corey, Fred, Liz, and Meg work together like a finely tuned machine. If you are looking for legal representation for your first, or even second divorce, look no further than the MacLaw team. I do feel a client needs to approach the process with a set of realistic expectations. Lawyers tend to be busy folks and this team certainly has a lot on their plate at times. However, if you find a firm which is NOT busy, then that likely is not a good indication. Corey and Fred struck me as genuinely down to earth and “good people”. As my divorce progressed through the lengthy process, Fred became my main point of contact. He was always willing to chat or touch base no matter what time or day it was. Although, he did indicate that 30 minutes before the Super Bowl kickoff may not be the best of times to discuss the case! There were occasions when I would get pretty stressed out by the process. The entire team at MacLaw are very skilled in reducing these stressors and calming their client down when necessary. Hire MacDonald Law BEFORE your soon to be ex does!
