I was arrested for DUI first offense with a refusal of the breath test. As a result, I was facing a six-month administrative license suspension with the possibility of an additional nine months if convicted of the charge. This lengthy suspension would have made it impossible for me to keep my job, as I have an hour-long commute to work. Attorney Newman handled the case expeditiously and achieved an outstanding result. Prior to the administrative license appeal hearing, Attorney Newman worked out a plea deal with the prosecutor to drop the DUI and replace it with a reckless driving charge. On top of this, the prosecutor also agreed to waive the administrative license suspension. While I was facing up to fifteen months without a license, I ended up with only a three-month suspension and no criminal conviction, as long as I agreed to receive a drug and alcohol evaluation. This highly satisfying outcome is a testament to Attorney Newman's first-rate legal skill and long experience. I can't recommend him highly enough.

John P. Newman is a warm, kind, compassionate and meticulous man who worked with us (my wife and I ) during a one year period to resolve a case brought by the state of NH which included several felonies. He holds a degree from Harvard Law and I highly recommend Mr. Newman to anyone who has been charged with any crime as he is very familiar with the the NH court system. Prior to opening his private defense practice, he worked as a prosecutor for Rockingham, and or Hillsboro county, and was a mentor to many other prosecutors in those court systems. He counseled us in every aspect of the case while keeping our costs to a minimum. Because we no longer live in the state of NH, Mr. Newman especially helped us to appear via teleconference, when able, which reduced our travel and hotel costs as well. Other defense attorneys wanted to charge twice as much for a retainer than Mr. Newman. We are very happy we chose him and we recommend him to anyone facing life changing charges.

John is an outstanding lawyer when it comes to criminal defense!! I recently went through a horrendous divorce and an unusual one at that. It wasn’t cut and dry as my ex wife accused me of some serious allegations of felony acts to gain the upper hand in the divorce case. I was facing some very serious jail time over these false accusations and upon seeking out a lawyer I came across mr Newman. I had all the facts and presented them to John and with his help I was able to prevail and beat the serious charges!!! On facts mind you.. lawyers aren’t magical unicorns and they don’t always win. I hired Mr. Newman because I had been falsely accused of felony charges. Mr. Newman is highly intelligent, very well spoken and incredibly engaging. This man knows the law because even at the 11th hour when the prosecution tried adding in additional charges which the judge accepted, before trial began with Mr. Newman’s knowledge and research, he was able to get those additional charges dropped. The jury deliberated for 15 minutes, and I was free. Highly Recommended.
