I cannot be more grateful for Jennifer Stonage Esq. Shelby at Bross and Frankel. After being denied disability again, I reached out to a few firms that assist with helping people obtain their disability. I was turned down, being told I would never be approved. I was granted my disability after 2 and 1/2 years, and only a year after working with Jennifer and Shelby. They worked with me to ensure I had documentation I needed. Bross & Frankel's Liz Berenato Won my Case! I would never file a SSDI or SSI benefit claim without the assistance of a professional organization like Bross & Frankel, P.A. The hurdles that one has to jump and the bureaucracy that is the federal government can leave you feeling defeated and alone. I contacted the firm and originally started dialogue with Mr. Frankel about 5 years ago, not really understanding what disability benefits I qualified for with my diagnosis of CMT (Charcót-Marie-Tooth) disease. I had gone from an active corporate professional traveling the country and Europe doing my work to someone who could barely walk or experience a healthy life and outlook. Mr. Frankel was most compassionate and took the time to explain how the firm could help me with the process of starting my disability claim and follow it up to completion. My original claim was denied after a lengthy period. The firm appealed the decision, and after a lengthy process, the denial was upheld. I felt defeated and prepared to walk away as many people do when the government get its way. You see, I feel the system is designed to tire you out so you walk away. Liz Berenato got involved with my case and started the appeal to the SSA Tribunal for a hearing before a live judge. The team worked closely with me and communicated with my medical team of specialists gathering all the necessary documentation and evidence to prepare for court. Liz is a compassionate and dedicated attorney who leaves no stone unturned in the way she prepares her case. This all took place during the COVID-19 pandemic and Liz and the staff continued to work diligently with my case. After 4 1/2 years of waiting patiently, not all the time, the hearing was scheduled. For some reason out of our control the hearing was postponed for another 6 months, but Ms. Berenato assured me to stay the course and that gave me a sense of comfort. Knowing that she has been an attorney for 32 years specializing in this field, I forged ahead. This week the hearing took place via video conference and much to my amazement, we won the case. I am thrilled to experience this victory, as I felt like I had been a forgotten American. An American who's worked and paid into the SSA and all other related tax deductions, since I was 16 years old, through college, until my disease made it impossible for me to work at the age of 56.
