I recently had the pleasure of working with James Caporrino, a fantastic landlord/tenant attorney, and I can't recommend him enough!
When I discovered an issue in my apartment, like most people, I turned to online reviews to find the right attorney for the job. That’s when I found James.
Frommy very first interaction, his assistant was incredibly nice and helpful. She scheduled my consultation in a timely manner, which I really appreciated. When I finally met James, he took the time to listen to my concerns and made it a point to explain every step of the process clearly, ensuring that I understood my options and potential outcomes. He laid out a game plan that made perfect sense.
I followed his advice to the letter, and when it came time to retain him, I felt confident I was making the right decision. Thanks to his expertise and professionalism, I was able to reach an amicable solution with my former landlord, just as he had predicted.
He not only met my expectations but exceeded them.

James is a great attorney that was incredibly helpful with my wrongful eviction case. He walked me through every step of the process along with potential outcomes in great detail during our initial consultation. James kept in contact with me on a daily basis throughout the case and was instrumentalin helping me achieve a the settlement outcome we were seeking. I encountered a very stressful challenge with my landlord and struggled to find a lawyer who would take the case. Emails to other lawyers who were recommended by friends went unanswered. I was about to give up and give in to the unfair demands presented to me by my Landlord when I came across Mr. Caporrino’s information online. Right away, he gave me the courtesy and decency of replying to my initial email and suggested I come in for a consultation. I was very nervous as this was truly my first legal challenge ever. Despite the convoluted nature of my case, Mr. Caporrino took on the role. Over the span of 8 months, he worked diligently to ensure I received fair treatment and negotiated a settlement which resulted in the end result I desperately wanted. I could not thank him enough. Although I never want to experience draining court legalities ever again, I know I can trust Mr. Caporrino and his expertise should I ever need. I highly recommend him.

We hired Mr Caporrino to represent us, the tenants, in a tenant-landlord dispute. He was very willing to discuss the case in detail over the phone and was able to put the landlord on the back foot- catching them out for having filed to comply with the law in a few instances. After receiving a number of referred attorneys from our realtor in relation to our real estate purchase, we decided to do our own research and found James. James was extremely responsive and looked out for our interests at each step (something we were afraid we would not get from the referred attorneys). A number of issues and delays occurred due to other parties and circumstances, but James efficiently managed all of them for us. James showed his extensive experience in real estate transactions and provided practical advice. We would highly recommend James for any real estate purchase.

Mr. Caporrino was our lawyer when my fiancé and I decided to sell our home. The sale was not straightforward by any means. There were a lot of hurdles we had to jump through - between easements, everchanging closing dates, title companies changing their policy from one day to another etc. James was extremely through and present through every hurdle. He always made sure to hop on a call and explain the situation himself which made every complication so much easier to deal with. In the end, his attention to detail and knowledge of real estate law helped us tremendously in finally closing the sale. I would recommend this attorney to anyone.

I consulted with Mr. Caporrino about a Notice of Motion for Judgement. I was required to respond in writing in the form of a certificate of affidavit in a tenant landlord case. I didn’t know what or how to reply via a certificate of affidavit and needed a lawyer to do this. I was also out of state when I received the motion and only had a few days to find a lawyer to prepare a response.
My consultation with Mr. Caporrino was four days before the response was due. I needed to respond to the notice of motion within 2-3 days, at most. Mr. Caporrino said that would not be enough time for him to prepare a viable response. I was obligated to reply and felt like I was “up the creek without a paddle”. He suggested that I write a letter to the court asking for an adjournment. I asked how would I do that and he gave me clear step by step clear instructions on how to file and upload a letter on e-courts. That same day I prepared a letter. I emailed him back and forth with issues and questions and he answered all of them. He also told me to email my letter to him to review to make sure it would acceptable to the court before uploading it. With his guidance, I uploaded the letter to the court just in the nick of time. The judge granted my request for the adjournment.
I then retained him to prepare the certification of affidavit. My case was a bit complex and he was very thorough, direct, no BS, methodical. He knew the details of my case after one sitting and was better prepared than other lawyers that I’ve hired. He was knowledgeable, proactive and prepared, unlike other lawyers I’ve hired who, when it came down to it, were not prepared and totally dropped the ball. Your case will not be passed along to an associate attorney who doesn’t have the experience that was expected and thought you were paying for by a law firm you hired.
In today’s landlord-tenant courts, you can’t anticipate how a judge will rule, but you should have a lawyer to fight for your rights. The personalized attention you receive from Mr. Caporrino is paramount, in my opinion. I was very satisfied with his approach and how he handled my notice of motion. I wish I would have found him sooner. I absolutely recommend him
and would not hesitate to hire him again.
