Laurie and Yale Hauptman are the most knowledgeable, professional, connected and caring elder professionals you will ever meet. They both treated me as if I were family and provided me with the best advice I ever received. They suggested that I move my not well, aging parents from out of state, close to where I live and to do it before they would become unable to make the move. It's been over a year since I was given this very valuable advice. Their legal counsel has provided me with the comfort of knowing I did what is best my parents and for our family. My mother received a grim diagnosis and I was frantic to help my parents get their estate and documents in shape. It turned out that they thought they had protected their assets in a trust but it wasn't set up correctly. Plus with my mother's declining health I wanted to be sure she had her health directives. I asked a friend for a recommendation and the lawyer he sent me to was horrible - claimed he know about estate law but was giving me bad advice. I called a local aging non-profit and thankfully they pointed me to Hauptman and Hauptman. The entire experience was easy and fast - and time was of the essence. Yale was able to help us quickly, thoroughly and I appreciated that he struck just the right tone with my parents - explaining the options and letting them decide the right course. Hauptman and Hauptman has handled all elder care needs for my mother. I have used their services for updating wills, setting up a Trust, and applying for both VA benefits and for Medicaid assistance. They were instrumental in obtaining VA assisted living benefits and successfully fought through the very cumbersome governmental application process for an entire year without ever charging me any extra fees. We are now in the Medicaid application process which is equally as cumbersome. Eldercare is very complicated. Making the wrong choices can result in a significant loss of money and benefits. Hauptman and Hauptman has a proven track record of providing expert eldercare services. I would never have been able to tackle the challenges of eldercare without them. Bravo!
