I had a personal financial issue that I needed legal help with and I called Shelley Slafkes. Shelley is no nonsense and gets right to the task. She gave me firm direction in what I needed to do in order for her to be able to get her side of the job done. She followed up immediately on any thing she felt needed to be expanded on further so I was always fully aware of what she needed from me and kept me accountable to through the whole process. Overall, the quality of service is dependent on which service you seek. Ian is very capable at diffusing situations and bringing people together (e.g., great mediator). I would say the opposite is true for negotiation skills and legal knowledge. During my divorce, Ian helped keep conversations level, yet provided limited support in negotiations. As an example, I ended up being the point person on understanding the requirements around alimony and determining the final outcome. In conclusion, I think Ian would work great as a mediator when both sides have their own legal representation. I would not recommend Ian to provide legal representation.
