What can I say, I hired an attorney and ended up with a friend. I hired Andy to help me fight against false domestic violence allegations, and not only did his tenacious advocacy convince my ex to dismiss her false claims against me, but she was even forced to chip in for some of my legal fees! This was more than a year ago and Andy still checks in on me just to say hi and see how I’m doing. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Knowing that equitable distribution is hardly a straightforward matter, I was looking for two things in my divorce attorney: expertise and professional pride. Unfortunately, the second was harder to find. For instance, in an initial meeting, I asked one lawyer if it were possible that I might spend several thousand in legal fees and end up with nothing. She acknowledged that might very well happen and seemed completely unbothered by it (as though such an outcome would be completely acceptable to her). This attitude was, of course, completely unacceptable to me. I did not get this sense with Andrew Economos and, more than his legal expertise, this is what ultimately made me choose him. As it turns out, my intuition was correct: the Early Settlement Panel ended up making a suggestion that was strongly in the other party’s favor. He was obviously angry, as though he found such a recommendation personally unacceptable. He insisted that he wouldn’t let me walk away with less money than I had spent on legal fees, so he spoke with the judge further. To make a long story short, he eventually secured a compromise that I believe was fair to both parties; unfortunately, the other side was extremely stubborn in the process and ran up legal fees on both sides by continually rejecting offers. At the end of the day, I didn’t end up with a considerable amount after the legal fees, but this was the other party’s fault, not Mr. Economos’. It is always very expensive to use a divorce attorney – particularly, if as in my case, there isn’t much money to be split—but if you’re going to use one, then I would strongly recommend Mr. Economos. He takes pride in his work and won’t accept anything less than in your best interest.

Andy has been representing me for matrimonial court matters for the past three years. He has had to handle custody, visitation, moving and financial issues and he has handled them splendidly and with great professionalism. Andy was successful on May 13th in keeping my kids in their school, allowing them to go to the summer camp that I sought for them to attend and to continue to have 50/50 parenting time. Andy is very on top of things and he really gets to know your case. I dare say he knows my case almost as well as I do! He is also an excellent litigator, zealously representing my interests while still being respectful to the adversary and the judge. I would strongly recommend Andy to my friends and acquaintances in need of a matrimonial attorney.

Mr. Economos is very professional and complete in his work. His involvement takes on a "Personal" interest not only during the present, but with concern for the future outcome. I must indicate he is very attentive to details, listened to my ideas and requests but also offered his expertise with regard to the present law regarding my case.
