As soon as I knew surrogacy was going to be the path for me, I started hearing recommendations for Melissa Brisman to be my lawyer, from various sources. I can completely understand why her name came up so often as the best choice for a lawyer in this field. As a first time intended parent, I have considered myself extremely fortunate to have Melissa Brisman as my attorney. From the very beginning I knew that she would be the best fit for me. I am so grateful to her for all she has done to develop the contract between me and my gestational carrier, reach out to various people involved to ensure everything is completed properly, file for the birth order, ensure the hospital plan is in place, etc. She is extremely efficient and everything was done with great care. She is also very responsive to emails and has been so willing to answer every question I had along the way. I always felt that I was in good hands with her throughout the entire process. She is so on top of each step of the process and would reach out to me often, not only to describe each task that needed to be completed, but also to check how things were going with my gestational carrier’s pregnancy. I was never left wondering what needed to be done next, which really put my mind at ease. I felt very much cared about, which meant so much to me. Surrogacy can be extremely complicated and stressful, but Melissa Brisman made each step manageable for me. She is truly the most thorough, knowledgeable and understanding lawyer. I highly recommend her to anyone who will be entering a surrogacy journey. You will be happy and lucky to have her on your team!

Melissa and her team were a pleasure to work with during a stressful and emotional time for my husband and I. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and very knowledgeable on all aspects of surrogacy law. She was kind, considerate and very dedicated to her work. Melissa was always quick to respond to anything including answering questions and completing any documentation. Highly recommend her!

Recently, a family member of mine hired this law firm to handle his NJ divorce. It was a simple divorce, as the children were all 18+ years old. He hired one attorney, who stated he was planning on retiring soon and would turn over the case to an associate. Shortly thereafter, he showed me his bills from the firm and we noticed that the original attorney and the associate were billing my family member for their time. When questioned, the firm stated that he was “consulting”.......on a simple divorce case???? That was gross overcharging from my perspective. They did not relent in this practice until we had to fire them. We could not even figure out all the double billing to be honest and could not verify the actual work because we are not lawyers. I do not trust this firm and would not hire them for anything.

This was the worst law firm I ever dealt with. I can’t prove they are crooked and thus cannot state for a fact that they are, but I personally believe they are. The lawyer I had with them badgered me constantly to accept a divorce settlement that would have rendered me in contempt the second I signed it. It was far above what I earned. He used foul abusive language to pressure me and the whole time I got the feeling he was working with the other side who was a lawyer he knew well. Once I fired them and went to court with a different attorney I had to settle for ONLY A FRACTION of what my Myerson, Fox Conte lawyer tried to force me to sign. I would absolutely NOT RECOMMEND this firm. I believe they are at the least, INCOMPETENT, and at the worst, CROOKED.

Highly disappointing representation. The settlement I was pressured into accepting turned out to be terrible in the long term.

Larry Meyerson and Matt Nicodemo immediately responded to assess my case. Larry is obviously a legend at his trade! He’s a straight shooter and gets right to the point! He immediately makes you confident that you’ve made the right choice. Matt did a brilliant job of handling a very complex case. He was accessible all of the time, never kept me waiting and was very patient with all of my questions and concerns. We worked together extensively and he was very knowledgeable and professional. Matt is also very compassionate and truly vested in your interests and the outcome of the case. It is evident that he takes his work personally and always gives 110%. The entire firm was professional and responsive and I consider them to be fair and honest, which is a rare find. If you are seeking top notch talent from dedicated professionals, look no further!
