When I first contacted Walkow Law Office through their website, Alan called me asking if I had any questions. Basically I felt the advertised “contract to closing” for $495 was competitive and I wanted to know if $495 covers my buying situation, so I explained to Alan that this was a for sale by owner cooperative in Edison NJ. He told me because this was a cooperative it is even easier to close because it doesn’t require a deed and the $495 covers my situation as he gave me the contact person name to start the process. Only a few days before the close, I found out from the mortgage disclosure that Walkow was charging me $895. The reason they explained was because it was a cooperative and it was more difficult. My complaint with Walkow is the following: 1. I made it clear from the start it was a cooperative purchase and they agreed to the $495 price 2. I discovered the over charged myself as no one in the office discuss this with me 3. When I spoke with the para legal about this charge, she used the threat that changing the charges could jeopardize the closing 4. Unprofessional and poor service: - My attorney Alan Walkow doesn't reply to emails or return calls. He also was late and the last person the show at closing - On two occasions I was prompted by my lender to contact my attorney office because they were late with needed information to the lender - The attorney office never told anyone that the active paralegal had leave the firm and the replacement contact name was not disseminated until I walk through the email thread with her to provide the time sensitive information - The para legal gave me the wrong information for the bank check to the sellers attorney. I had to spend unnecessary time mailing registered mail twice but unprofessional was the same paralegal never apologized for her mistake and acted like it was my fault It was only a small $56K purchase and I didn't expect perfect service for $495 but they seem to charge what they want regardless of the service and not tell you about it.

DON'T use them. The service is VERY BAD. They didn't do anything until the last week before closing, and everything was hurried in the last week. Even a shipping fee was charged me in closing which was not supposed to be paid by me. They never actually help the client, never really consider what is good for the customer. What they want is just finish the case and get money, done. This is the worst experience dealing with lawyer or law office.

I am a Realtor and was turned on to Mr. Walkow three years ago now. Mr. Walkow’s firm has closed most of my deals based solely on his price (9 out of 10 clients - if given the choice of spending $495 versus $1000 - $1500 to close will select Walkow all the time). They all ask, “Is he ‘good’?” And the answer is YES! His Paralegals do much of the legwork and often, do the closing itself. If there are any issues or problems? Alan or one of his associates (Christine) will get involved. Either way, I have never felt let down or missed a step. They are diligent and get the job done on time. I am using them for an REO Closing right now and again, could not be happier.

Worked with Mr. Walkaw on a real estate purchase. Couple of things happened: - the initial contract rider was sent out without my review and approval; - the final (!) )rider was signed on my behalf and sent t o the sellers, concluding attorney review without my review and approval again - Attorney and his assistant somehow missed an email from the sellers attorney that concluded attorney review. As a result, 6 days passed after the attorney review conclusion without me being aware of it. Attorney review conclusion starts the clock for multiple things in the purchase process (condo documentation review within 10 days, initial deposit within 10 days. inspection within 14 days, mortgage commitment within X days etc. ) With all that i lost 6 days and had 4 days to make everything happen. They did not even see this as an issue. It is very hard to speak to Mr. Walkaw when you are in disagreement, as he simply talks all the time without listening to what you have to say. I would not feel comfortable with them representing me in the future.

Mr. Walkow was willing and able to assist me at the time that I needed and made himself available to my needs. I appreciate his time as he was detailed, and provided resolve to the situation. I look forward to working with him for future projects.
