I highly recommend this firm to anyone who is looking to be represented for any case. The staff is very nice and friendly and they help you out in any way they can. I was struggling to find someone to represent me for my child’s custody case and was highly recommended to this firm and to be represented by Jannheli Perez. She is an outstanding attorney that will fight for you until the very end. Since the very beginning I was embraced and welcomed with open arms. They treated me like family. Jannheli is simply amazing and phenomenal! She goes above and beyond for you! She is kind, courteous, professional, and very passionate about helping others. She helped me throughout my whole process of my case and helped me understand certain laws to get me familiarized and prepared on what was to come later in court. She is very supportive and understanding when it comes to everything that she does for you! I am very thankful and grateful that I was lucky enough to have Jannheli Pérez as my attorney!

I retained this firm during a high conflict custody battle for my 5 and 7 year old kids in March 2024. Amy Bailey was my attorney and for some reason I never met her, very strange... Anyways, I finally got a court hearing which Amy Bailey had to ask for a continuance due to going on vacation suddenly. Then, the date that the court had set to be the next court hearing, guess who coincidentally was going to be on a flight again for some vacation time? Amy Bailey! The solution to that was to bring in Molly Kicklighter who not only annoyed the judge, but she didn't stand up or fight for me at all in court. I mean, how could she fight for what I wanted when she barely even took the time to know my case at all. Still, I was billed ridiculous amounts of money for nothing really. In fact, I spoke in court more than Molly did. My ex stood alone against Ms Kicklighter and got her way the whole time, it was kind of sad to be honest. Just a warning for whoever is hiring Molly Kicklighter, she's a horrible attorney. Office people were very nice and courteous but lost emails that I had sent. Whole folders of information were lost. They kept requesting documents that had already been sent. It was a complete mess. The only one that I can honestly say was worth anything in this place is Janhelli Perez. I wish that she would have represented me through the whole case but she only dealt with the child support part for some reason. They had said that she would be joining at no extra cost which was a lie. By the time Ms Perez was joining the case I was running out of money. I told them to withdraw from the case and of course, they finished up the money that was in the account and somehow I still owe them another $700, pretty wild. Bottom line, I would NOT recommend NM Legal Group to represent you, especially in a high conflict case. Ms Perez, you have a good heart, my mom loves you lol! I appreciate you and may God bless you always.

I’ve had some experience with this law firm. Back in March, I called about my case, and they said that there was a restraining order between my kids and I. They lied to me. That’s false. I’ve never had a restraining order between myself and anyone. Instead, free, fraudulent legal help was obtained in the workplace by the opposing party, at LCPS. All of these things? Very unethical. Misappropriation of tax-payers dollars, too, right? I now have to edit my review, because the law firm is silencing me from responding to their comment below. Everything I said is 100% truthful. Of course, they don’t like negative, true reviews. Prove I am in violation of a policy. You haven’t succeeded in taking this review down. Freedom of speech, especially of the facts.

The team at New Mexico Legal Group is amazing. Through out the process of my custody case, they have been nothing but professional, empathetic and effective. Family situations are fraught with emotions; it is worth your time to have counsel who can understand your situation and give you options which are best for your family. Having Amy Bailey as my attorney was the best decision I made. Your legal representation is also a reflection of you, you will not find a more honorable and professional firm in the state of New Mexico.

My personal experience with New Mexico Legal Group Las Cruces office and attorney Ms. Jannheli Perez has been outstanding. Ms. Jannheli Perez is an awesome attorney who is super knowledgeable, highly competent, and has distinctive ethical sense. She provided me with great customer service, helping me through difficult situations, and walking me through my options. Ms. Jannheli Perez will stand up for her client’s rights ethically and protect her client from any false allegations. I deeply appreciate her guidance and will 100% recommend her and New Mexico Legal Group Las Cruces to my family members and friends.

Good things happen to those who wait... It took 2 years for my divorce to be finalized. My initial attorney may have had a full plate but there was very little progress to speak of. Also my ex was non responsive to any requests but she also had family matters requiring attention. After 11 months Ms. Kicklighter was assigned my case and things started moving forward in a manner I thought should have happened from day one. Divorce is not fun... I felt that no one was listening to me based on what my ex wanted me to cough up. It was a very hard pill to swallow. My ex is an admitted control freak and people pleaser. She marches to her own beat which was one of reasons things took so long waiting for her to respond. Also I had three different judges leaving for one reason or another. I kept looking at the principal of the matter and Ms. Kicklighter kept me focused on the things that really matter...getting the divorce finalized! She reminded me that this was not about principles. She and her team stayed on point and helped me to do the same. When I say team I mean TEAM!!! Sometimes I needed to be led by hand in providing information that was being requested. These fantastic and professional ladies were accountable in keeping me informed almost on a weekly basis. Whenever anything changed in the process they informed me. A lot of issues that occurred were beyond their control but they always gave me options. It was expensive and they showed their accountability with cost of services in the billing statements. When it comes to divorce and the attorney fees the clock make very little difference so I recommend that you respond to their questions and supply the body of evidence as needed. I went through a mediation judge to get this done and over with. Ms. Kicklighter had recommended this action last year. I have no idea why it wasn't done then but it's done now. What I wish would have happened was to have had a full blown understanding the NM State divorce procedures and process. Also understanding the NM Common Law statute. I spent 40+ years of military and government service and to see it be drained in such a manner was unimaginable. I don't blame my ex for everything but I do blame myself on a bad decision thinking she was the one. Molly, Eunice, Leslie, Audrey, and Shannon were fantastic, very patient and understanding with me. I highly recommend and appreciate the support they gave during this difficult time in my life. I can't thank the NM Legal Group enough...I am free!!! Hallelujah!!! Firstly, i'd give 5 stars to Jannheli Perez personally for her professionalism and time she spent thoroughly answering my prepared questions during my initial consultation. I was handling my legal matters Pro Se and intended to retain an attorney if/when the need approached. I reached out to Ms. Amy Bailey whose only response to retaining either her or Ms. Jannheli Perez was for me to contact the NM Bar Association. Ms. Amy Bailey's demeanor and response to prospective clients could use some improvement and lots of humbling. Best-off seeking another bottom feeder out elsewhere. If an attorney can't provide a prospective client a valued response, they don't value you as a client or prospective client, just your money. that is all that speaks to them.

I would highly recommend working with New Mexico Legal group. The attorneys, paralegals and support staff was always warm, and encouraging. They were knowledgeable and helped me navigate the waters of my legal issues.

New Mexico Legal Group P.C., in particular Molly Kicklighter, did a wonderful job on my daughter's divorce. CHECK EVERY BILLING STATEMENT. EVRY TIME. This is the first negative review I have ever left. I initially started working with NMLG in 2020, out of Albuquerque. I felt like that attorney represented me not perfectly, but well. After COVID when in person hearings became necessary I had to switch to a local attorney. The previous attorney told me that if I switched within the practice then he would go over the entire case history and bring that attorney up to speed. From the beginning of the relationship, I felt like the second attorney did not care about the years of case history, or the relevant facts of the case. In our first hearing, as the judge was making a ruling, I asked my attorney to clarify a question and she refused, while we listened to the opposing counsel ask several questions that were not even relevant to the hearing. After that hearing, I told that attorney to not work on my case any more and to file to be removed from the case. She did not - and continued to work and bill me for time spent working on the case, even though I had asked her to stop. I started reviewing this with the billing department 45 days ago and they still will not resolve the matter. They have billed me approximately $2,000 after I fired them. They refuse to address it, even though I have spent over $60,000 with them in the last 3 years. I would not recommend working with this firm.

This location provided poor representation and misleading information. They charged excessively as well. An email that takes 2 minutes is billed at 30 minutes. Additionally, I was requested to attend an in person meeting. I went to the meeting and the paralegal who was doing most of the work did not show up to the meeting and was unable to be reached. I was still charged full price for the meeting and nothing significant happened. I would encourage you to take your business elsewhere, I did.
