I worked with Jonathan on my DWI arrest last year. I was charged for DWI in Saratoga while visiting the region. This was my first ever traffic offense and I was overwhelmed the day after with no clue on how to proceed. Me and my wife searched for criminal attorneys in the region. I hired Jonathan to defend me in a DWI case two years ago. I was terrified, embarrassed and overwhelmed. I was treated with compassion and understanding. You will be very clear about your options and understand the potential outcomes. He is a very detailed oriented person which is exactly what you want if you’re in a similar situation. He found a minor mistake in my arrest report and I was able to keep my license while we fought the case. This is very rare. He also was able to get me a plea of reckless driving, again rare. If there is anything to argue on your behalf he will find it and make a well thought out defense. Pay the extra money and hire the best.

I was arrested for DWI in June 2018. I was also charged with a misdemeanor for criminal possession of marijuana. The next morning after my arrest I felt anxiety like I never had felt before. I consulted the internet to find top quality local representation and stumbled upon this website. After reading reviews for all of the top listed DWI lawyers I decided to call John Cohn's office and schedule a consultation. I had not made up my mind about John yet but after speaking with him during my consultation I had no reason to look any further. John was very realistic with me and didn't make any false promises. He informed me that my case was not very good due to my BAC of .15% being right over a legal benchmark of .14% in which the DWAI plea is much easier to obtain. As well as my high BAC it certainly didn't help my case that I had a criminal possession of marijuana as well as video recorded admission of guilt. John exercised every legal avenue possible to get me a plea for DWAI and avoid going to a hearing but due to the details of my case the DA's office wouldn't budge. John kept me informed every step of the way through phone calls and texts and was very reassuring and very adept at calming my nerves when I would get nervous or anxious. John kept my expectations for each and every court date very realistic and represented my on his own when he didn't think my presence was required. When the date of my hearing finally came around I was beyond nervous. I had never been to a hearing before let alone as the defendant. The hearing was very nerve-racking as I sat through the DA's direct examination of my arresting officer. As this examination went on I felt worse and worse about my chances. My taped admissions of guilt as well as other embarrassing things I said on the body cam footage coupled with the fact that a friend of mine had just been convicted of the misdemeanor DWI charges that he was charged with had me feeling defeated at this point. John then got his chance to cross examine my arresting officer and in that cross examination alone John proved that he was worth every penny. John picked apart every single detail of my arrest as I watched in awe. Never having witnessed a hearing before this cross examination was really incredible and reminded me of things I had seen on T.V. John was able to point out numerous inconsistencies from things on the arrest report and in the body cam video to the officers answers on the stand. He brought up each and every mistake the officer made in following the proper steps in making a DWI arrest. He asked the officer many question that forced him to disagree with things he had just said when being questioned by the DA and that conflicted with things on the arrest report. John painted a picture of how I was unfairly graded on certain aspects of the field sobriety tests. He really showed me that he does his homework and examines every detail to create problems with the states case. John put on a show and by the time the cross examination was over the DA was immediately ready to offer me a plea of DWAI with no interlock requirement and a dismissal of the CPM charge. The DA as well as the judge and everyone else in the courtroom had something to say to John about what an amazing job he did. Everything changed so fast from me feeling defeated to getting a better plea than I ever hoped for. John had informed me that he was excited to bring my case to a hearing and I didn't understand why until I saw him in action. He was so overprepared for my case and that really shows that he is not only a professional but also cares about his clients. I am so pleased with the representation I received from John and if anybody is to find themselves in the unfortunate position of having to seek legal counsel for a DWI, I would advise them to schedule a consultation with John Cohn and let him work his magic.
