One day while shopping at a department store near where I live in the Bronx, I was arrested and charged with petit larceny. I had never been arrested before and was terrified at the possibility that I might go to jail. Worse, in less than a month I was scheduled to realize my dream and be sworn in as a US citizen, a dream that could now come crashing down as a result of this arrest. I was frightened and had no idea what to do, so I called Steven Goldman. He answered all my questions and immediately put my mind at ease. After discussing the case in depth, he explained how we could resolve the case without jail and without affecting my ability to become a US citizen. He did exactly as he promised. Thanks to him I can happily say I am now a US citizen. From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank Mr. Goldman. I also want to thank his wonderful office manager, Karina, who was very supportive whenever I came to their office, and who literally held my hand while I nervously sat in court waiting for my case to be called. Without them I would not be where I am today.

Six months ago I was frantically seeking legal representation for a misdemeanor case in which I was facing ugly charges that were very seriously threatening my future and jeopardizing any chances of gainful employment. Having never had any serious brushes with the law, I was completely at a loss on how to screen/hire an attorney and talked to at least 7 different ones before encountering Mr. Steven Goldman. Right off the bat I appreciated his straightforward style. He gave me a prompt, direct, and logical assessment of the circumstances with no promises, no sugar-coating, and no hard sell. I was impressed by how much we spoke on that complimentary initial telephonic consultation (two other attorneys wanted to charge me $150 for a preliminary talk) and I came away feeling comfortable and like I wouldn't have to watch my back with him were I to retain his services. Before long I made the decision to go with his firm and accepted his fee. It was not cheap for a man of my modest means, but it was reasonable as I knew that my type of case would be tough, that I was handing Mr. Goldman a weak hand (I foolishly made a lengthy statement to the cops at the time of my arrest), and that it could go on forever in the glacially paced Bronx County system. Without sharing too many details about my case, I can report that my experience with Mr. Goldman was worth every single penny I paid and then some. While it is impossible to claim that my opinion of the man and his services are completely divested from my admiration for him as a person (he's an affable, approachable guy who just happened to share many of my interests) I am objective enough to rate him based on: Expertise - He never claimed to know everything, but it was apparent he knew his business as he routinely provided me relevant, applicable, and concise case information and strategy. Our meetings and conversations were not verbal data dumps mired in "legalese", but actually felt more like classes in which questions were encouraged. Accessibility - At my request, he didn't just take the case and freeze me out of everything, but rather let me be part of the process. Whether it was email, text, calls or meetings, Mr. Goldman was always at the ready with updates. Note: I didn't abuse this by contacting him everyday - twice a month was typical. Humanity - The very nature of the charges I was facing and my insistence on "being part of the process" exacted a personal toll as I was mentally, emotionally, and eventually physically distressed during this time. I was perpetually worried and came to know despair and insomnia I'd not wish on my worst enemy. Mr. Goldman saw this and like a true counselor tried his best to help me through it with advice, humor, and understanding. My case ended as well as it possibly could short of it being miraculously thrown out or obtaining the elusive Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal (ACD) - neither of which was ever really an option give the details of my case. While I'll never get to work in law enforcement or for certain governmental/municipal offices I am happy to say I can move forward in life without a criminal record. Mr. Goldman played a crucial part in that and in my regaining mirth, health, and solid hope for the future. It is without reservation that I recommend him and his firm.

My Attorney is Family I remember when I met attorney Steven Goldman in the Bronx. I was just leaving the criminal courthouse just steps from his office. I had just had a hearing on my false arrest case and as I walked down the street I prayed to God for direction, guidance, and help. I looked up and saw Mr. Goldman’s’ sign above his building which stated he handles false arrest cases. I thanked God and walked right in the office. I was scared, nervous, and confused until I met Mr. Goldman and my fears were calmed. He was personable, transparent, tactful, and helpful. Our case went thru a multitude of changes that I would never imagine because I had never been gone through the judicial system, but Mr. Goldman was on top of it all the way. He always informed me of every change, motion, document and research done. He and his team worked diligently and tirelessly on my case. In fact, when the judge wrongly dismissed my case, Mr. Goldman appealed the dismissal to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals and won! Over the past nearly 4 years I have learned a great deal about the drive, tenacity and strength of Mr. Goldman, both as an attorney and as a human being. He is a believer in truth and justice and he truly fights for his clients. I have come to know Mr. Goldman’s sincere heart and humility. He gives himself completely to his client’s cases, sacrificing his family, his finances, his time and even his sleep. I love Steven Goldman and I am truly grateful to God for leading me to his office. He is a part of my history and my family. I pray for his success so he help other people the way he was able to help me.

Though I have a good wife and a good job as a union carpenter, I went through a very bad stretch about two years ago when I was drinking too much. I ended up getting arrested and charged with DWI on four separate occasions. All of the cases were felonies. The DA was insisting on upstate time. I really thought my life - my job, my marriage - was over. I had no idea where to turn. I hired Steven Goldman to represent me. He fought for me from the very start. He patiently explained all the options to me, and told me what he thought was the best option for me to avoid jail. He said avoiding jail wouldn’t be easy, or even certain, but he told me what I needed to do to give myself the best chance of avoiding jail. He supported me through what was a long, difficult, and frankly scary process. Mr. Goldman encouraged me to get supportive letters from friends, co-workers and family. He also convinced me to enter and complete an alcohol program. Though the DA was insisting that I be sentenced to prison, and though the judge initially agreed with the DA, Mr. Goldman ultimately convinced the judge to take a chance on me and instead offer me probation. Thanks to Mr. Goldman I didn’t go to prison. Instead, I still have my job and my marriage. He literally saved my life. If you’ve made mistakes and need a truly excellent lawyer who can give you back your life, as far as I’m concerned Steven Goldman is the only choice.
