Last night I got written up for transit theft of service for fare evasion, PL 165.13(3). After doing some research on the charge, I became seriously concerned as I saw I could get up to a year in prison, $2k fee, and a permanent record if this went through. Being as I've never been in trouble with the law, I had no idea what these things actually meant and knew I needed to contact a lawyer asap.
