I paid him a $5,500 retainer. After approximately 4 months he had not even had my now ex-wife served. He didn’t answer phone calls or respond back to voice mails or emails. He never sent me any itemized bills. He has still not given any of my $5,500 back. I am now in the process of going through the legal process of trying to get my money back. I would advise to stay away from this lawyer!

I hired David in 2021 to handle my divorce I paid him over 2000 dollars . At first he seemed focused and eager to help but after a few months he stopped responding to me he stopped working on my divorce I just left the county clerk's office and they told me that he hasn't submitted anything I'm at my witt's end he was good up until it actually came to doing any work he won't respond to my emails he won't return my calls and won't do the job he was hired to do I would not recommend anyone hire him

As someone who knew nothing about custody and feeling as though I was on my own to navigate through this, Mr. Heier was there every step of the way. He was understanding from the very beginning. The kindness and patience he showed was above all else. The professionalism this man has is incredible. Highly recommend Mr. Heier.

I was in the dark and on my own for the beginning of trying to see my son. I needed to find a lawyer and stumbled acrossed David. He was on top of everything and my case was was in our favor. There were no hidden fees at the end.. Every thing was cut and dry . Overall I won my case and was happy with my outcome. The good\great: He is great at answering his phone and emails. Most of the time he picks up on the first or second ring and is available right away. He knows the law very well. Every single thing he told me was true and accurate regarding the law and how the divorce process works. He was good at communicating with opposing counsel. Listened to my opinions and offered solid advice to whether they were feasible options. The billing was fair and transparent. I spent 60% less on legal fees than my ex and most everything went in my favor. The not as good: I felt as though he was unprepared each time we went to court. I was constantly going through all the details in the 5 minutes before our appearances. I felt as though I was driving most of the progress and was the one doing the leg work with him being the messenger more than my representative. Overall I had a fine experience. For a simple divorce with not a lot of complications he was effective.

He was court appointed but never made me feel his wasn’t giving 100%. I always felt he had my back and when he felt something I was asking for wasn’t going to happen he was honest and said so. I would recommend him to anyone who has family court issues.

If I could give Mr. Heier more than 5 stars I would. David Heier became my attorney for a custody dispute when my previous one decided last minute he could no longer work for me due to a new job offer in another city. I was scared and had just a couple of days to find another attorney before my first court date, and I am so thankful that I found Mr. Heier. David has worked so hard to help me gain residency of my children when we knew it would be an uphill battle. Mr. Heier has been our calm in what has been a stormy year and a half of litigation, and has gone above and beyond what any attorney will or would do. He is compassionate about his clients and their cases. We never had an issue being able to get ahold of him when we had an issue or question as he promptly returned all of our phone calls, emails, and texts messages. He worked tirelessly to make sure that our new Custody Order was drafted quickly and signed within a matter of days. I would highly recommend him.
