John’s office phone was answered by an automated greeting prompting you to leave a message. That, by itself was not a problem. But John has an aversion of talking on the phone. It would be hours, towards the end of day, or next morning that I would get a response by short email.
It was a problem because my buyer was very demanding and I was looking to draw on John’s 35 years of experience for advice. Not able to talk to John was a problem.
The closing was set 2 weeks before. On the day of the closing, John told me that the buyer’s lender was late wiring the money to the buyer’s lawyer. I was asked to sign all the documents and hand over the keys of the house. John told me to drive to the buyer’s lawyer’s office to pick up the checks myself the next day. I don’t think he was looking out for my interest. He was more concerned about spending more time if we had to reschedule the closing.
I will not recommend him to any of my friends.
