This lawyer gave me wrong advise. I qualified for my green card as a derivative beneficiary (my wife was the sibling of a US citizen). Upon meeting with Levine, he told us only my wife qualified and I did not. I asked him to call the USCIS to verify because I did my research and according to the law I do qualify. He said he would and to call him back in 2 days. As soon as we left Levine's office we called the USCIS and was told that I did qualify as a " derivative beneficary. We called Levine 2 day later and he informed us that he called the USCIS and they told him I did not qualify for a greencard. We called two other lawyers for a free consulation and they both informed us that i did qualify as a derivative beneficary. We instructed Levine to file the papers for both of us. THe USCIS approved both petitions and we both received our greencards. If i had listen to Levin iI would not have my greencard today. Levine should have done his homework on this particular type of case. If he was not familar with the term "Derivative Beneficary" he should have done the legwork, not give Wrong advise. This is someone's life he is dealing with. His actions as a member of the bar could have cost me an additional 5 to 10 yr wait time.
