Mr. Wellner is an outstanding attorney. I hired him to represent me in Family Court (Custody, Support, and Divorce). He is both thorough and fair and ceaselessly fought to defend my rights throughout the financial and emotional ordeal of being in court with so much at stake. Mr. Wellner objectively explained every option and nuance of the hearings and appearances (before, during, and after) helping me feel completely prepared through every step. In litigation, he is superb and I always felt confident with his representation. I could not recommend anyone more highly.

Phil successfully helped me through a difficult custody case. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and understanding. He realistically explains the process and likely outcomes. Phil possesses a unique balance of strength and diplomacy. He provided excellent counsel through the difficult decisions involved in the custody case. I have used Phil exclusively for all of my legal needs. Phil was able to help me through the family court process, divorce court and a real estate closing. Most recently he helped me navigate through changing my children's names. He made sure that I was awarded what I was due and, more importantly, that myself and my children were protected. Mr. Wellner has been helping me with an ugly custody and Support battle. I don't know what I would do without him. I have found his council and advice always honest, informed, and realistic. I've seen him both as a compassionate mediator, and a strong fighter. He sometimes is hard to get a hold of, but when you do he is very easy to communicate with. It is obvious that he cares about justice, the law, and the human being he is representing. He seems to be very familiar with the local courts, (Columbia County) other attorneys, and judges and I can see that they respect him. I have never had the impression that he is trying to milk the hours for more money.

Phil was exceptional in representing our interests in a Legal Malpractice and Commercial Litigation case. He proved himself adept at understanding the nuances of the business matters involved, formulated a comprehensive legal strategy, and executed on that strategy to a positive outcome for us. I would strongly recommend Phils services for other cases of a similar nature.

I have used Phil for several litigations. I strongly recommend him. What I like best about Phil is he listens to me as the client, the other attorney and the judge. So may other attorneys do not take the time to understand the case and facts and they just try to bulldoze with drama and empty dramatic statements. Phil is constantly focused on the resolution and has a great ability to understand the complicated and make it simple. His writing is great, he can synthesize a complicated situation with persuasive arguments and insight. After using Phil for a couple of business matters, I engaged him to represent me in highly contested divorce. Through many changes of opposing counsel, several failed mediations and numerous motions, he maintained composure and stuck to the facts. Although we are not yet done, I appreciate Phils hard work, knowledge and temperament and the positive impact they have on the eventual outcome.

We retained Mr. Wellner to evict tenants for back rent. He was paid and has not done the job. We have attempted to call, text and email with no response. It has been months since he was paid and nothing has happened, so here we sit without more rent. I can honestly say I do not understand how an attorney can practice in this manner. Extremely disappointed and do not recommend !!

I hired Mr. Wellner and paid him thousands of dollars to work on my case. In the middle of my case Mr. Wellner missed several timelines he provided, became completely non-responsive to emails, did not return phone calls, and lacked the basic decency to provide simple updates when I grew concerned that my case would be dismissed due to potentially missed Court deadlines. Oddly, Mr. Wellner was ALWAYS quick to contact me when it was to accept payment for his services though.
