I have had several occasions where I've had the pleasure of working with Karen Nora over the last 10 years, both professionally and personally. Karen represents the financial institution I work for and both myself and my staff have worked with her on many commercial real estate transactions. A few years ago my mother hired Karen Nora to handle my brother's estate and she was very kind and compassionate throughout the difficult process. Karen also represented me on the sale & purchase of a new home and she and her staff at Smyth Nora made the very stressful process bearable. I would highly recommend Karen Nora.

I used Karen as my representation in a family court matter to gain more visitation with my daughter. Karen handled my case so well that I received more parental rights and visitation with my daughter than I had expected. I would recommend her to anyone, anytime. She was nothing but courteous and professional both inside and outside the courtroom.

Karen has been remarkable. She knows the BS other lawyers throw up and she calls it as she sees it. I was going through the divorce from hell and Karen was incredible. Great lady and a great lawyer. I've recommended her and her firm to several people who have gone on to retain her. They have nothing but praise for her work.

My brother and I used Karen Nora to settle our mother’s estate when she passed. Ms. Nora went above and beyond in the handling of this matter. When the town claimed there was no C.O. for our mother’s property Ms. Nora personally went down to the town hall spending hours researching every possible means of tracking down this C.O. until the matter was resolved. Karen was in touch with our realtor putting her at ease through the tedious process too. She guided my brother and I through every detail from probating the will through the closing of our mom’s house. This process was not an easy one and we relied heavily on Karen. She was the consummate professional and her patience incredible, more than that we both felt like Karen was really working for us. I completely trust this attorney and have recommended her to family and friends every chance I get! My sister-in-law used Karen to draw up wills and handle some real estate transactions in Florida. She had a positive experience as well and it was very convenient that Karen is licensed to practice in Florida too! Karen Nora is a rare gem and I highly recommend her.

Karen has been our go to attorney for over twenty years for dealings in New York as well as in Florida. During that time Karen has handled multiple closings for us as well as settling a huge family estate. Karen is detail oriented, extremely efficient, reliable and professional. She is our first call always on all things that require legal guidance.

I have had the pleasure of working with Karen Nora on numerous Real Estate transactions during the last fifteen years and with every transaction she is exceptionally thorough, attentive to the clients needs and most importantly for me communicative throughout the transaction. It is a rarity that an attorney devotes as much attention to her clients needs and to working closely with those she works with, insuring a smooth transaction and quality experience for the client. So as indicated in my review title she brings a new definition to the word "exceptional". I would more than highly recommend her for legal work relating to any sphere of concentration she encompasses. She is that good!!!!

Karen Nora was so helpful in my recent request to assist my mother in a boundary issue on her property. She knew what to do and immediately got to work, emailing a solution which took care of the issue. She called the next day to check on the status and see if my mother, who was a bit rattled by the whole process, was all right. Karen was spot on with her advice, prompt, courteous and compassionate. Thank you Karen!

I recently started my own business and Karen Nora helped me set up my corporation. Karen Nora was very professional and eager to help.
I had no idea what it takes to start up a corporation. After 5 minutes I knew I was in the right place. Her knowledge and attention to detail was greatly appreciated.
I have since used her firm exclusively for my legal needs.
She recently did my wife and my wills and again provided me with a lot of information about wills that I did not realize.
I have never been a big fan of lawyers but Karen has changed my opinion of lawyers!

From the moment I walked into her Huntington office for a consultation Karen's demeanor and professional attitude put me completely at ease. I was a nervous wreck as I never needed to retain a lawyer before but Karen made the process very, very easy. She took the time to go through the entire case step by step, allowing me to ask all the questions I needed to in order to feel ready for the courtroom.
Once in the courtroom, Karen's extraordinary knowledge of the law, her fierce tenacity and professional manner assured me an outcome far greater than I could have ever hoped for.
I pray I never do, but if I ever need a lawyer again I know where I'll be going.
Thank you Karen!

My husband and I arrived at the office to sign our wills. My husband had taken the day off work and we actually had an appointment with the other lawyer in the office (Edmund Smyth). When we arrived, we were informed by Ms. Nora that Mr. Smyth would not be making our appointment, and that she was going to "have" to help us. I explained that I was confused because we had an appointment and my husband had taken the day off work. Clearly she was angry that Mr. Smyth wasn't there, and decided to take it out on us. She snapped back, "WELL, HE'S NOT HERE!!!!". I looked around at the paralegals in disbelief. I was completely shocked! I have never been treated this way by anyone! Ms. Nora sent us into a room, and searched for our wills.
I started to feel bad for Ms. Nora because she was put in this position, and clearly she was having trouble finding our wills. So I went back out to her and calmly said, "I'm sorry - it's just that we are a bit frustrated because my husband took the day off work, and Mr. Smyth isn't even here". She again snapped back at me, "DO YOU WANT ME TO HELP YOU OR NOT?!!!" I slunk back into our waiting room, and didn't speak for the rest of the time.
Two days later, I got a bouquet of flowers from Mr. Smyth, apologizing for the HORRIBLE way Ms. Nora had treated me (I guess the paralegals in the office must have told him).
