I asked Larry if he could write a legal opinion letter for a DWAI in New York State. DWAI is a unique charge because it is a traffic violation and not a crime and is less severe in seriousness compared to an ordinary DWI. Larry authored a letter explaining what a DWAI is and this letter has proven to be useful for employment and other scenarios. I needed another letter for another purpose and Larry was kind enough to do this for free. He didn't ask for any more money or expect anything in return. Larry is a great lawyer and based on what I have seen goes above and beyond for his clients.

Larry saved me from a reckless driving misdemeanor. This was my first accident and I had four tickets stacked against me, one of them being a reckless driving. I had no experience or any idea how to deal with this. Larry took lead me by the hand and got rid of the reckless driving and a second ticket LITERALLY the day of the arraignment. I hired Larry after being charged with DWAI drugs, two charges of CPCS 7th, uninsured motor vehicle and unsafe lane departure. I was in active addiction when the incident resulting in these charges occurred, following the arrest I went to inpatient rehabilitation and relocated. Larry ensured I did not have to come back to upstate New York any more than absolutely necessary. Larry counseled me and ensured I understood the charges and potential consequences throughout the entire process. I was able to call him; ask any questions or verbalize any concerns I had and get a response, typically he answered the phone when I called, within hours at most. Ultimately Larry was able to have the two CPCS 7th charges, violation of unsafe lane departure and uninsured motor vehicle dropped and I ended up pleading to DWAI drugs. Following me pleading guilty to DWAI drugs I had to have a PSI/presentence investogation), something Larry had explained to me early on, with the probabtion department where I relocated to. The probation department where I relocated to is known for being very strict with driving under the influence charges; therefore they reccommeded incarceration and probation. Larry was able to explain the strict nature of the probabtion department in the area I relocated to so the Judge could understand. I ended up being sentenced to 2 years probation, what I consider to be the best possible outcome. I am a licensed professional and my license just came up for renewal as well, Larry has been walking me through the process of renewing my license with this new charge on my record. He has continued to always be available and answer all questions I have in a concise and clear manner. I am so very thankful to Larry for going above and beyond; he did an amazing job and continues to be there for me as a client even though my court case is technically settled.

Lawrence Newman successfully defended me in a DUI case about 5 years ago. I did end up pleading to DUAI but that was much better than the original charge. However, this review is more about what happened this week. I was filling out some employment forms and had a question related to my case and I called Lawrence Newman and left a voice mail.
