If I could give negative stars I would…after receiving their latest invoice I was shocked and disgusted because my case has been delayed in court and they probably made a mistake and billed me for their mistake. I heard nothing from them for months and when I inquired about my case status, I received a useless answer by another lawyer who charges $550 an hour. Her email response was not that long and they charged me half an hour for it. It was ridiculous! I plan to fire them and hire another lawyer…

I am very satisfied with the work done on my own legal documents and the legal documents for my mother. Both Kristi and Kira were a pleasure to work with.

Great service, on top of the situation immediately. Able to reduce my traffic ticket to not affect my insurance rate.

Paul and his team did an amazing job! He got a very serious traffic ticket reduced to a parking ticket. He was a pleasure to deal with. He kept me informed at every step. I highly recommend using him.

What a group of smart and gracious lawyers. I would highly recommend Melissa as the go to person to help make it easy and on point. I couldn’t have found a better lawyer to understand my needs and deliver the best outcomes for my total estate and elder care needs. Rita Berkowitz

We did not have a very good experience at Cona Law. We were able to set up a trust and complete a Medicaid application., but he bill was significantly higher than Melissa Negrin Weiner told us it would be. They made a lot of mistakes that caused us to have to go back to their office more than once so they can rectify. Billable hours via the phone and email were ridiculous. Their employees would sometimes stay on the phone with me just talking with nothing to do with the case and then bill me. I have asked several times via email for somebody to call and talk about this with me but nobody responded. They did take 3,500 off the bill at the end but threatened if I didn't pay they would continue to go after me for the entire amount. Even with the money discounted it was still probably $5,000 more than anybody else. Make sure when you go to the law firm that you get a flat rate. I am editing to add a response to cona law response to me. The rates were gone over before I gave you a retainer. I was told the whole process should cost me between 10 and 15,000. It was a pretty easy case and we had no complications yet my bill was way more than that. So many mistakes were made on your part. I have been reaching out via email to Michelle asking for a phone call to discuss. I then received something in the mail about paying my bill in full and you will take off some money. Just not a good experience and I was nickeled and dimed to death. When I tell people what firm I used it seems you do not have the greatest reputation amongst other attorneys. I would just recommend that people really do their research before they give you guys a retainer. Just not a good experience

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Cona Elder Care Law Firm. I contracted this firm to create a trust for my parents, but the entire process felt more like a business transaction than a genuine effort to assist with our family's needs. The costs initially presented were significantly lower than what I was ultimately billed. They seemed to initiate unnecessary back-and-forth emails and conversations, likely to inflate their billable hours, especially when the mistakes were theirs.
Despite charging tens of thousands of dollars to assist with a Medicaid application, the first application was denied under their guidance. We had to reapply, and despite months of work, we essentially had to start over and pay twice for the same service.
The most troubling part was after a year and a half when my parents finally had their affairs in order. Once everything was settled, the firm had the audacity to charge me for my siblings' inquiries about removing me as a trustee. This caused significant strain on our family, further compounded by the firm's opportunistic billing practices.
It's disheartening to see a firm prioritize profits over genuinely helping families. I would strongly advise against using Cona Elder Care Law Firm if you are looking for a compassionate and transparent experience. Their primary motivation appears to be maximizing their own profits, often at the expense of vulnerable elderly clients and their concerned children.
