I have worked with Jason Newfield for nearly two decades, and he has been extremely professional, thoughtful, serious, and empathic throughout. When my extended illness was imminently reaching the crisis stage after years of struggling at my job, I consulted with Jason about the disability process, and he gave me tremendous help and advice in preparing the necessary documentation for my case, understanding my policy, and preparing myself realistically for the challenges involved. His deep experience about all aspects of a case like mine was a tremendous asset. When I was finally unable to continue working, Jason was incredibly prompt and compassionate and immediately responsive in helping me navigate my declaration of disability, and dealing with my employer and insurer. And in the decades since, he has been invaluable in, as his website says, “holding insurance companies to their promises”, through multiple periodic reviews. My life literally might have been very different if I had not been referred to Jason.

I spoke to a few lawyers about filing a claim with my “own occupation “ disability insurance policies and ultimately chose Jason Newfield to help me. . Jason was very knowledgeable, explaining the process and guiding me through every step. He made what could have been a very arduous and drawn out experience very easy. I highly recommend him.

Dealing with a private disability insurance claim can be a difficult and laborious process. Even in its simplest form, the process is adversarial and one needs top notch representation. Jason Newfield and his staff, Kristin, provide just such legal services. My medical condition had deteriorated over a number of years to the point where a disability claim was inevitable. One files a claim and initially you get some support from the insurance company claim staff, but inevitably you hit the wall. The claim will be denied for any number of reasons. You have plenty of medical evidence, but the insurance company overwhelms you. This is why you need the excellent legal guidance Jason can provide. Jason is extremely knowledgeable in private disability insurance, knows the participants very well and has plenty of experience. He knows the routine, what to expect from the disability claim staff, and how to steer the process to the best possible conclusion. He took charge of my case, managing the interface with the insurance company and the submission of the appeal. It’s fair to say he knew what would happen at each juncture, and had a tactical response ready if he did not like the result. Jason is also all business, efficient with his and your time. Legal calls are focused, to the point and short. It’s what you want from your lawyer for disability insurance representation. Jason and Kristin turned a disability denied situation to an approval for Long Term Disability. Nothing changed, all the facts and medical support were the same, but, with Jason’s representation, my claim was approved. Outstanding results.

As a physician practicing for 30 years who loved my job it was very difficult for me to acknowledge I could no longer safely practice medicine and file for disability. I interviewed 4 disability attorneys as I did not feel equipped to handle this on my own. I chose Jason over the others because of his confidence and forthright manner. He was also very kind and understanding of my difficulties with the loss of my professional identity.
I cannot emphasize how much I feel that I could not have done this without him. There were some issues with my claim that he easily helped me navigate ultimately leading to a successful claim. I had multiple physicians involved, more than one medical issue and a changing work/financial situation that he knew exactly how to manage.
I highly recommend Jason. He has changed my life for the better. I am so impressed with him and grateful that he and I will be staying in touch.

I met Jason Newfield several years ago when my health changed and I needed to find legal representation in order to handle my disability claim. From the beginning I knew I had come to the right place. Jason and his entire legal team made me and my wife feel extremely comfortable and very confident in their ability to guide us through this difficult and complex process in a warm and caring manner. My disability claim was successful thanks to Jason Newfield. There is no way I could have navigated through this process successfully on my own. Even more impressive is the fact that he and his team are there for me any time I have a question about my situation or whenever I need advice. I highly and without reservation recommend Jason Newfield and his fantastic team.

For the majority of my career, I was able to balance my chronic neurological disorder of Tourette’s Syndrome with my job responsibilities. While it wasn’t easy, I managed to balance both. In the twilight of my career my employer offered me a “promotion” that I could not refuse. Unfortunately, my “promotion” led to enormous stress and exacerbated my neurological condition to the point of intolerability. In turn, this positioned the company that I worked for to set me up in a situation where failure was inevitable. As planned, it put them in a position to declare me unable to perform my duties and subsequently fired me. Fortunately, I had long term disability insurance, and was able to submit a claim. Initially the disability insurance company determined that my disability hindered my ability to work and approved my claim on the grounds that my neurological condition was a physical impairment and began to provide benefits to me. After a relatively short period of time, the insurance provider re-evaluated my claim and decided that my physical disability is now a “mental / nervous” disability and decided to cut off my benefits after two years.
I immediately engaged the law firm of Frankel and Newfield to assist me. Attorney Jason Newfield and Paralegal Christina Murray took ownership of my issue from day one. I can’t even describe the relief I felt having them “insulate” me from the disability insurance provider. They fronted every unwarranted and illegitimate request by the disability insurance provider. When my benefit’s ran out early, as dictated by the disability insurance provider, Frankel and Newfield filed a lawsuit against them, which forced them to open their eyes and ears and take my claim seriously. Within a few short months we went to mediation and the case was settled, to my advantage, as equitably as possible.
If it were not for the law firm of Frankel and Newfield, my claim would have probably terminated much sooner and I would not have stood a chance standing up to the disability insurance provider on my own. I highly recommend the law firm of Frankel and Newfield for anyone that has to deal with an unscrupulous disability insurance provider.

From start to finish Jason was able to anticipate all scenarios and take the best steps to advance the issue. Had great command of the legal, medical and factual issues that decided the case. Extremely well prepared. With precision he delivered an articulate pin point argument and counter argument. He is easy to talk to and didn't over bill me! He is one of the highest rated attorneys with a stellar track record for a reason.

It became apparent that I was going to need legal representation when I was suddenly dropped from my company disability policy. I have been struggling with a chronic illness for years which has left me with physical and cognitive impairments. I found Jason online, and after an hour initial consultation (which he didn’t charge for) we knew we had found the right lawyer. Jason is bold, straightforward, aggressive and an excellent resource for what is needed to file a proper appeal. Jason (and Christina) are both also very kind, and were flexible when we experienced the sudden loss of a family member. Jason and Christina got my disability reinstated , and I cannot say enough wonderful things about them both. I would strongly recommend Jason for anyone facing a similar situation -fantastic lawyer and also a great person.!

Jason and his team are phenomenal. From the very beginning, we were appreciative and impressed with his candor, efficiency, empathy, and expertise. It was a long and grueling journey, and Jason was with us every step of the way. He was extremely familiar with our case and with the medical conditions in a way that let us know that our case and our family was a priority. He was confident in his legal strategy, and showed at every contact that he was ready to fight until the decision was a favorable one. We felt well attended and taken seriously. We never felt rushed, dismissed, placated, or ignored. We would absolutely hire and recommend Jason ten times over. Thank you, Jason!

If you have had the terrible misfortune of being disabled by CFS/ME (and any of the co-occurring conditions - fibromyalgia, Hashimoto's, small cell fiber neuropathy, dysautonomia, etc.) you need to retain Jason. These conditions are sadly still viewed by many as "yuppie flu" type, subjective non-illnesses. I can attest that they are nothing but. I was diagnosed with (eventually ALL of) these conditions.
Prior to my diagnoses I owned my own law firm and worked up to 10-12 hours a day as a corporate insurance lawyer. The extreme pain, cognitive difficulties, severe fatigue and post-exertional malaise made it impossible for me work anymore. I felt like I was losing everything - my career, my income and my firm. I had a private disability insurance policy that denied coverage on every possible ground it could assert. Jason and his paralegal, Christina Murray, addressed every basis of denial, guided me as to the best way to document my disability, and worked with all of my doctors and my former law partner to overturn the insurance company's denial. They discredited the insurance company's "expert" physician, and found a true independent expert who successfully provided support for my case at a level I could afford.
Jason and Christina successfully worked together in effectuating an internal reversal of my denial of benefits, in relatively short order, much to my immeasurable relief and gratitude. This means they convinced the insurance company to overturn its own prior decision!
Jason and Christina were also responsive, available and consistently on top of my case. They were empathetic, and understood when I felt too ill to get something back to them in a timely fashion, or failed to return their call. However, what allowed me to stay grounded and hopeful during an incredibly stressful, difficult time in my life (in addition to the fact that I always was completely confident in their work and strategy), was that they believed me and in me. Anyone who suffers from the conditions that I do know this alone is priceless and necessary.

I first contacted Jason when it became apparent my multiple sclerosis symptoms were progressing too rapidly to continue a full-time career. He gave me lots of great advice and we were planning to file the paperwork for a partial disability claim.
Days before completing the paperwork, however, I had an acute exacerbation significantly affecting my mobility and the claim became "total and complete" disability.
MS can be challenging and many people I know have their claims rejected the first round. One of my policies was an ERISA policy and needed a Social Security application.
ALL of my claims were approved FIRST round! (Granted, I had to do my part, but Jason certainly did his!) It has been over 6 years and he continues to help manage my insurers and what information they are entitled to and what isn't relevant.
I even tried starting a small business (didn't succeed), but he helped guide me through different scenarios and how they might affect my claim.
Though this illness has given me many challenges, one thing I haven't had to worry about is my disability insurance payments. I'm glad to have Jason as my advocate!
