Jonathan B Ripps is the best lawyer that you can possibly have if you have serious charges pending. Ripps defended me in 3 different indictments and he got me the best disposition possible... Matter fact the disposition he got me is unheard of. All these cases were felonies, one was for criminal mischief and I got time served. The other one was a drug sale charge I caught while I was on bail for an Attempted Murder indictment spanning 5 charges including possessing a firearm. I was charged with Attempted Murder 2nd, reckless endangerment 1st, attempted assault 1st, possession of a firearm 2nd and another related felony. Attempted Murder 2nd is a class B felony with a minimum time of 5 years state prison. My first offer was 15 years... I’ve had a lot of criminal lawyers but his dedication to you and his commitment is unheard of. He emailed my loved ones everyday for updates and visited me in Rockland County Jail at least once a week. I’ve read a lot of different motions off the law library, Ripps sent me a few motions that he wrote and they were the best I’ve seen. He put up a great defense, getting my offer down by half at first, then he even got my bail reduced and got me out on bail for 1/2 of the original cost. I eventually came back to county jail for the drug sale charge. This man is not just a lawyer, he is a great person and treats his clients like his family. I have severe mental health problems and he would call me when I was on bail to talk to me and help me. Ripps got a 15 year offer down to a indeterminate 1-3 YOUTHFUL OFFENDER sentence. This means I have no convictions on record because I was 16 at the time of the crime. At sentencing, Ripps was aggressive and shut down the DA who was trying to give me more time. I got a favorable offer and the drug charges got ran concurrent. I pled guilty to a YO of a class B felony and a class D felony and got 1-3 years no parole. A regular lawyer would get you what the sentencing guidelines state for the minimum of that felony. I got a fraction of the minimum sentencing guidelines for a class B felony. Even when I went into DOCCS, Ripps would call me to just chat. The case is over and there was no more litigation but Ripps is such a great person that he talked to me and even wrote me letters of comfort when I was in solitary confinement. Ripps has also made other cases magically disappear. He used to work for the DA’s office a while back so he knows the ADAs and the DA. Not to mention he knew every judge I went to for criminal charges. This means he is comfortable with them and can negotiate and get a favorable result. He will write up amazing motions and bring up strong defense for the case, but at the same time he will passionately explain to his ex colleagues and judges what really happened. Courts look at the black and white documents and determine your sentence by that. Ripps actually talks to the judge and the DA about your case in private in the chambers. He will tell them what really happened, At first I had a public defender and the DA painted my picture as if I am a monster. Then I got Ripps and he explained to them what really happened and showed the judge I am a human. Even when I had no pending charges and the case was closed and I was in DOCCS he did what lawyers don’t often do and actually wrote multiple letters for my parole hearing. I was denied and ended up doing the whole 3 for other reasons I won’t mention. The whole 3 years in prison Jon was by my side. My first week out I visited his office and talked. I agree he is expensive but I have had multiple different lawyers and I got to say it’s the best decision you will make. He is a great lawyer, a great person and even more a great friend. He will be there for you on the inside and out. He will represent you to his fullest ability. From experience the lawyers I had before are not on the level of Ripps at all. Ripps a different breed. Even the county Supreme Court judge Russo asked me in the end if I am happy with my representation. He didn’t let me answer, he just said “you definitely should be.” 10/10

Jon is a miracle worker, A DWI in NY means a criminal record which leads to a background check when applying for jobs which means all the money spent on college could potentially go to waste. One night of stupid decision making could of cost me everything but Jon, a miracle worker was able to get my case dismissed! Never in my life would I imagine that being possible. Thank You Jon!

Jon was my attorney representing me in a legal matter that was on-going for approximately 2 years that I had no idea was even going on (which involved an arrest warrant). It came to my attention which gave me pretty high anxiety levels. Once Jon got involved all of that anxiety and worry immediately disapated. He assured me that I would not wind up in jail and most importantly for me not lose my job I had been working for a long time to get into that I was just recently hired for. The arrest warrant was vacated along with the criminal charge attached to it (and my anxiety). No jail time and I was able to keep my job and go on with life. Thanks Jon!
