I had a speeding ticket in newyork, while I stay in newjersey. Brain did what could be best done in the situation, it avoided me spending time at the courts, almost reduced my points to 0 and lot of mental pressure. Very responsible, Informative, responsive.

If you are looking for an attorney who is sincere & knows his business, you should hire Brian Berkowitz. He is there for you every step of the way (and even afterwards), and did the best job that was possible for us. He also advised us in other areas that were a great help to my family. He is truly a good person that has his clients best interest in mind & tells it like it is, which is a breath of fresh air in his line of work!

I am a commercial broker, and have been working with attorneys on both sides of multi-million dollar transactions for about 30 years. There are good attorneys and bad; deal makers and deal breakers, those that communicate well, and those that don’t. And I can tell the difference in about 60 seconds of conversation. When a family member got in trouble with a DWI, I took it upon myself to find them the best representation I could, and I wanted to be involved in the process from beginning to end. I knew from my experience that the best attorneys are those that understand and have experience on both sides of a given situation; in this case, both prosecution and defense. I was initially drawn to Brian Berkowitz because he had previously been head of the Clarkstown DWI bureau for several years. That told me that he probably knew everyone on the opposing side, including their strategies, objectives, and the rules governing their conduct. Obviously, other defense attorneys would know these things, but not to the extent of someone who actually lived and worked the prosecution side. My thought was that he would be intimately aware of what was reasonably possible, and what was not possible. In other words, no “pie-in-the-sky” promises that could not be delivered. For me, that was the first key. Second, I wanted a good communicator. Most lawyers do not communicate well with their clients. They may be great communicators in the courtroom, but try to get them on the phone or to answer an email quickly; Good Luck! Not so with Brian. He took the time to explain in plain language the charges, their ramifications, the possibilities of a lesser charge, and the entire process step by step. I was included in all conferences by phone, received copies of all correspondence, and received regular phone calls to update me on what was happening, and I wasn’t even the client! That is above and beyond the call of duty, and it is what separates a true professional who cares, from a run-of-the-mill lawyer who treats you like just another number. Third, most attorneys charge by the hour. They give you an estimate, and it is always higher when it’s all over, ALWAYS. This case was pretty straight forward and the flat fee was very reasonable. Obviously, if it had gone to trial, there would have been a daily rate, which is normal. Thankfully, it worked out exactly as Brian had thought it would, and there were no further legal costs. I can not tell you how important that is. Finally, getting a DWI is a serious matter that could happen to anyone who drinks occasionally and exercises poor judgment by getting behind the wheel, even just one time. But, it is not the end of the world. Brian can help you get through this, so that you can learn your lesson, and get on with your life. Trust me. I’ve dealt with literally hundreds of attorneys over the years. This is the man that you want representing you. This is your advocate.

As parents, my husband and I were so comfortable with Brian Berkowitz representing our son. We were so worried that our son's careless error in judgement this one time could destroy everything he worked so hard for in his life this far. Brian assured us he would do whatever he could to keep that from happening. He explained everything to us in full detail. There were no surprises along the way. My son also was very comfortable with Brian defending him. He truly felt he had his best interest on his mind from the beginning. My sons case was wrapped up in two court appearances. We were as happy as we could be in this circumstance with the outcome. I hope we never need to retain Brians services again but I would never hesitate to call him if we did.
