So the first several hours with the Shapiro Law Firm illustrated how the sibling team of Amanda and Aaron are special: I contacted Amanda last minute for a hearing to occur the next day. While taking notes about the situation, she asked sharp questions. She was ready to go to work, starting with suggesting a face-to-face meeting IMMEDIATELY. Not digital communication leading with the legal bill (though that's always important). No $300 consultation fee. Instead, Amanda vouched to avoid the typical over billing for minutia that give many lawyers a bad name. But the Shapiro Law firm is worth every penny. Into that first night -- well past work hours -- she communicated constantly: text, email, whatever it took. I told her a few times that she's not the typical attorney. She's smart and humane. She stressed that I should tell the TRUTH about the case. Short story: As you can read from other reviews, the Amanda and Aaron team are a dynamic legal duo. Any client would be fortunate to have them.

So if you guys have any immigration issues please dont hesitate to contact The Shapiro Law Firm, after 13 years of having my case in abandonment i decided to look for top lawyers in the us, being outside of the country was hard so i started looking thru youtube and i found a ver knowledgeable lawyer named Amanda, and i thought SHES THE ONE, so i contacted them, they review my case without a charge and i was trying to fill out an N600 outside of US, Amanda took a look at my documents and she called me next day and advise me that the best thing to do was to applied for a US passport, i was not happy by her decision because i would have to apply for a us pssport at the us embassy at my country and they are not vert friendly rigth here, but she was like TRUST me, and i did. So after 13 years thinking i have lost the chance of living in the us, GUESS WHAT? I now have my own US passport on my hands, Amanda made me realize i was a USC since 2007 and i didnt even knew about that. So thank you very much Amanda! And as well i would recommended them with my eyes closed.

Amanda helped me file and obtain an order of protection against someone that had been harassing me for several months. She was able to quickly get approval from the Judge to serve the respondent over email, since I did not have an address for them. Amanda was able to swiftly work through the confusion, mistakes and delays posed by the court and the respondent. Every step of the way, she was available to answer all of my questions, and more importantly, Amanda remained professional, considerate and very understanding throughout this process. Even through my emotional outbursts. Amanda is a very knowledgeable and purposeful attorney, I was relieved every time I spoke to her. I was almost at the deadline to process my Visa TD as the previous immigration lawyer suddenly dropped my case. I found them through google and decided to take a leap of faith as I am living in California and never had the pleasure to meet them before. However, it was the most pleasant surprise! Aaron took my case right away and hand it over to Amanda, who is truly a sweetheart and has been supporting me every step of the way, including now that I am looking to transition out of the TD to a TN that I am obtaining. Both of them very knowledgeable, patient and I truly appreciate that they were so calm and provided me with a lot of security to anxious people like me. I highly recommend Amanda Shaffer. She is kind, empathetic, professional, and was always available to me for questions. I called her at her cell phone a few times and she always answered, as well as txt messages/emails. Although, we were at a distance, she's in NYC and I am in CA she manged to coordinate meetings with me to discuss about my case. I am glad I found her on Facebook. Before I decided to choose her as my lawyer I would watch her live videos and enjoyed learning and hearing her talk about cases from VAWA. I highly recommend her, and hope to reach out to her in a few years to get my citizenship. My green card under VAWA was approved in 9 months.

Amazing experience! I am a practicing attorney, but I did not trust myself to handle our complex immigration situation (DACA, unlawful presence accrual, etc). After talking to multiple law firms who told us we had no options to convert from DACA to lawful permanent resident, Amanda and Aaron took us on as clients and walked us through every step of the process. Even though it took much longer than expected due to covid, Amanda was in constant communication with us the entire time. Our applications were approved and we just returned to NY from our interview at CDJ. Everything went as Amanda said it would and we are safely and happily back in the US keeping an eye on our mailbox for the green card to arrive. Thank you Amanda and Aaron!
