Awesome and professional service, saving me thousands in property taxes over the years. Heller & Consultants have always exceeded my expectations. Definitely a GEM of a company!

THE WORST ! File with any other tax reduction company! I paid $7K more in taxes last year thanks to their incompetence. I hired them to file a tax grievance on a new home I purchased in the Smithtown area. 360K + difference between assessment and purchase price. Should have been a slam dunk but they botched it and lied ! At first Heller told me a story that it was denied because I didn't live in the house, but it was my residence! The Smithtown tax department told me the truth...they filed and never supplied any supporting documentation and the grievance was denied. When they appealed to SCAR, they filed and withdrew the application with no explanation but sent me a letter how they fought hard and it was denied. No one at Heller would return any of my calls to explain or respond to what the tax department said. I've used several tax grievance companies over the years, but this company cant even file a basic grievance or SCAR appeal properly and that what they do !!! (This property was not a flip home and was purchased through a realtor and listed through the MLS system. Your response is just another story and the third excuse for not filing properly. Don't say your willing to discuss since I'm still waiting for your return call 8 months later after I left multiple massages for you.)

Cannot recommend in any capacity. He is incredibly biased in his dealings and opinions, and thus his counsel suffers greatly and becomes extremely limited if not useless. The attorney does not return calls and useless only available to speak in the unlikely event you happen to stop by his office and he is there. While you can sometimes squeeze a few minutes of his time, he will surely remind you how he took that time spontaneously to discuss the matter, and conveniently forget that countless calls and weeks have passed in which the phone was silent. It's incredibly frustrating for businesses to use the pandemic as an excuse for delays when the time stamps for the court filed documents from this office don't align with their explanation. They try to pass off the blame (on the courts of course) for weeks if not months of inaction, meanwhile, there's other record keeping that could have been conducted during this time, but again, their explanations don't corroborate with the other parties involved and whom I've had contact with directly. If it were up to me, I would never have retained this attorney for the estate of my parents, but my siblings made this decision. Sadly, this attorney has been so deterred by the interpersonal relations between the siblings that he has entirely lost track of the purpose of the will he drafted for my parents... I just wish this office would spend a lot more time on honoring the wishes of parents as stated in their respective wills, instead of the petty and counterproductive demands of select siblings. Communication is poor at best with this office. Even if you try to be optimistic, and are open to hearing the counsel of the attorney, you should't have reciprocal expectations. There have been several times I have listened without interjections or engaging in dialogue, in order to hear him out in his entirety, and also allow a day or two to process his counsel. When following up in discussions, the attorney is not receptive to other opinions regardless of context, and has a 'his way or the highway' approach that often disregards your concerns as a client and more of a reflection at how this office prefers to be purely, as they have even said themselves, 'transactional', and with a one formula fits all approach.

I didn't believe it until I got the email saying my property taxes were reduced by nearly $1800 annually but it happened. Heller & Consultants got it done! Patience will pay off.

Ms Ward was great. My mother needed a will and a trust. She was very patient with us and took her time explaining everything in detail. She spent lots of time with us and was very knowledgeable and pleasant.

We grieved our taxes the year prior with another company and got nowhere. Heller and Consultants reduced our taxes by $2,200/year. Very professional and knowledgeable, highly recommend!!

After waiting for 21 months, we got tax adjusted close to what Heller indicated. From the beginning, they have kept me informed of what exactly is happening with the procedure. Very glad that we chose them!
