Attorney Sprowls is a wonderful and caring person. Never have I had a great experience with an attorney until now. Very professional and above all he really cares for his clients. Do not hesitate to hire Mr. Sprowls. He will fight for you and under no circumstances will he give up to achieve results. My family and I were able to trust him fully and will definitely hire him for any future needs.

On June 14th, 2013 I had a 3:30 appointment with Ramond Sprowls and it seemed to go well. I left at 5:00 because he had another client. Mr. Sprolwls said he knew the other Attorney in this case very well and would talk to him and find out what was going on , what had to be done ,and he would get back to me with a price because I did not have that much time. I never heard from him so I called the office June 19, 20, 21 and he would not return my calls or answer me. I called June 24th and the woman who answered the phone said that he told her to decline my calls. was devastated because he was going to talk to the other Attorney and I had told him everything. I am putting a complaint into the 9th District and going to try Attorney General, Inspector General and every newspaper and TV station I can. He could have told me what I was up against and declined to take the case if he could not handle it. I would have respected him had he given me an explanation instead of leaving me more frustrated than when I went to him. This was very unprofessional.

I hired Mr Sprowls for a criminal case that if went bad would have ruined my life. Mr Sprowls did not promise me anything BUT that he would give 100% of his attention to my case and he did. There were several factors in my case that could have had it go really good or really bad and through his knowledge and experience we triumphed. I havd and would recommend Mr Sprowls Law services to everyone.

I used Mr. Sprowls on 5 different cases varying from minor traffic tickets to possession gun charges, I came out on top of everyone of my cases. Mr. Sprowls stayed in contact with me at all times, he kept me informed of everything that was going on in court, he made every court date with me and was very knowledgable about everyone of my cases no matter how different they were. I highly recommend Mr. Sprowls as a criminal defense lawyer!

I happen to know a little about the law and this lawyer did exactly what I would have wanted on my behalf prior to my even asking or telling her filing a motion. I feel safe she will fight for my rights in any way available to me and not just what is easy. I should add this is on an appointed case and she has treated me no differently, or with any less concern or responsiveness than if I were a paying client. I have hired lawyers for business purposes many times00000000 that were not as attentive! Just great and deserves all the credit in the world.

Attorney Ozman office called me today asking when I want to set an appointment, I stated, I already hired someone else. Mr. Ozman with a rude unprofessional attitude said thanks for wastinh my time. Im also going to facebook with my review. Good luck loosing cases with him. He doesnt have a good rep and not recommened for service.

Dana did a seminar at my local library and I was impressed with her presentation so I called with a legal question regarding my existing estate plan. She was able to update and revise the plan while going above and beyond to make sure that I understood every step and was clear and comfortable with the revised documents. From my experience, Dana is a thorough, knowledgeable, personable, and a skilled attorney. I highly recommend her.

I had a great experience with Dana. She helped me with my mother’s trust. For me she went above and beyond and was always available to talk. My mom is mobility disabled and Dana would come to my house to complete the process. Dana is very personable and professional. She made sure to explain everything so that it made sense for us. I highly recommend Dana, especially if you require a more personal experience with someone who is flexible like I did with my mom.

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Walden, New York?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
