Last year after moving here from the East Coast of NC my husband was lost downtown Asheville. He was trying to make a left turn and an impatient driver was turning left in front of my husband, according to Larry this guy started screaming at him. Larry rolled his window down and changed to turning right so the guy could go around him when he elected to call my husband a Coward and told him he would kick his A*%. My husband is a retired Marine and can deal with a lot of harassment but draws the line at being called a coward! Anyway, three weeks later he gets a summons to appear before the magistrate’s office for a criminal summons. He had forgotten about the incident and never told me about it until the day the summons arrived. After a few months it finally went to court and my husband after sitting in court all day the Plaintiff was arguing all day with the ADA about the charges not realizing that Larry could not be charged for a hate crime, throughout the entire process Mr. Messer was in the courtroom attempting to get the charges settled so we could move on from this nightmare. Because of the plaintiff’s attempts to have the charges changed and his disruptive nature and his leaving the courtroom in frustration; according to my husband Mr. Messer discussed the case with every ADA that walked in and out of the courtroom the DA decided the only course of action was to dismiss the charges. It was a huge relief to find a Lawyer that not only listened to my husband, but he went to bat for him and his experience and knowledge led to the dismissal of charges instead of a potential extension or continuation. It was the BEST money spent! MESSER LAW FIRM GOT THE JOB DONE!

The most horrific lawyer you could ask to represent you, he missed everyday of law school except for the day they taught how to get a continuance. Had a minor case which ended up getting a continuance 3 times just because my lawyer was always out of town. The end result was only having to do community service and although I completed my hours, I had to reach out to his office the day before my court appearance which he is suppose to be representing me for to find out that I have to go to court myself for another continuance since he was out of town traveling with his son’s band. He’s was paid in full 5 months ago and continued to be incompetent and not do his simple job that he was paid to do. I’ve missed the entire process of having my first child just because of this so called attorney. I hated having to get out of character because they were ok with just getting another although the only thing to do was show my proof of community service completion. Respectfully, his services aren’t even worth the charmin I wipe myself with. Terrible communication considering it was an hour before the end of business day and nobody from his office has informed me that I have to appear in court the next morning and I don’t even live in NC. Sat in court all morning just to find out that another lawyered had it dismissed well before court even started and once again nobody ever communicated that to me so I’m just sitting there waiting for nothing and no communication from this office or anything that it was dismissed. This is the perfect lawyer of you want your money and time wasted. Over 5 months later and I still have never seen Ted or even heard his voice but yet I’ve had 4 court dates and never seen him at one. Had to always go appear myself. Was a waste of time hiring him.

Al Messer was a true professional in the courtroom. We ended up going to trial and he won it with ease to get everything dismissed. I never once felt questionable about my representation and it payed off in my favor. Trust this firm to do the same for you. I am thankful for Al and his team. -Nick

Mr. Messer represented me on a 1st Degree Murder charge and was able to get my charge dismissed. I was not guilty of this charge. The Messer Law Firm made me feel safe and helped me through one of the worst times in my life.

Ted J. Besen - Lawyer Asheville North Carolina Where do i start, this guy is a joke for a Lawyer, he was the most incompetent Lawyer i have ever met. He does not represent his clients as he says, trust me, after he takes your money his service is that of someone with vey little experience. This guy talked a good line when my Daugther first reached out to his office, when she was needing to find a lawyer to represent her. The biggest mistake i made was not researching this guy and his experience in the judicial systems, as he is nowhere qualified as he says he is. The second mistake was trusting this lawyer, after i paid his fees, his attitude and attention to my daughters case was the worst i have ever seen, third mistake i made was not firing this joker after I seen his lack of experience , his incompetents, He tries to convince you that he knows all these different people in the judicial system, when in fact he does not. The way this guys works is, if you want to plea guilty and go to prison, or except whatever your charges are, that you may have been charged with, then by all means hire this guy to help you. I seldom have ever written a review, but this guy and his law firm is a joke, he will talk a good line to you, and he will spend most of his time telling you of all the people he has helped, i would encourage you to do your research on him before hiring him, call and speak with people he has represented, and you will probably find you would be better off just representing yourself than to use him. I am writing this just to send out a warning to others as you are searching to find a good lawyer when you need one, his level of expertise and competence is way below standard, if he is your only choice, i would recommend just pleading guilty and go it alone, as that is most likely what you will encounter once you have hired him to represent you. R.Ward I gave a 1 star review because there was not a minus 5 that i could give. I would also watch out for reviews that you see on his site, as most of them are probably from friends or family, that would be the only way he could possibly get a decent review. I can not stress enough how in component this guy is, save your money and hire a lawyer that at least understands the law and will work in making the best decision for you, after speaking with other lawyers in this field, this guy made several mistakes in representing my daughter, he was way in over his head on not knowing what he was doing, but never once failed to take money for job that was worthless, do what you want, but at least you have been warned that this guy is a waste of time.
