My experience with Jacob was horrible. Do not hire him! A family lawyer is supposed to help you through a tough time and he made it so much more difficult. Lazy does the least work possible and does not care about your family. Everything was done last second or basically by me. And he has attitude like he is a good attorney, which is laughable. He does not do his job and you are basically left representing yourself! Believe all the negative reviews and stay away from Montford family law. Thanks Jacob

My experience with Alex Gomes as my attorney proved to be rather disheartening. During our collaboration, it appeared that he struggled to deliver any substantial outcomes beyond filing extensions and excessive billing. His efforts in negotiating mediation were notably inadequate, and what added to the disappointment was his condescending tone in emails.

I found my experience of Montford Family Law to be excellent in every way. They contributed to having my divorce be very easy and amicable. Recommended!

If you are looking for an attorney to bilk you out of every dollar you have with a sole focus on maximizing billable hours with zero concern for the outcome of your case, Jacob Ehrmann is your man. I’d give Jacob Ehrmann zero stars if I could! He took 9+ months to produce a settlement agreement document after I negotiated the settlement terms MYSELF with my ex-husband, and that formal legal document was so full of typos and errors (e.g., he couldn’t even get my last name right) that I had to export the settlement agreement to MS Word to fix it myself to avoid him charging me $400/hr to fix his own egregious sloppy errors. Ehrmann even admitted to my ex’s attorney that he “dropped the ball,” but still kept sending me crazy bills for zero services actually received. The nail in the coffin was Ehrmann trying to hit me up on a dating app while I was his active client and he was doing a pathetic job representing me in my child custody negotiations.

I'm not here to disparage, I'm here to warn. My ex-husband’s attorney crushed Ehrmann at my expense. Ehrmann missed communications from opposing council and from the court for as much as six weeks. He actually LOST my notarized copy of the Form 4 (for interim financial aid). Then, when we went finally went to court for aid, SEVEN MONTHS later, (depleting my savings), the opposing council had the original Form 4 and quizzed me on a document I hadn’t seen for seven months in addition to quizzing me on the new Form 4 I had to submit. The judge was so annoyed with me for slow resolution when I didn't do anything wrong. Even my ex-husband said that Ehrmann had “effed” me over. My husband left me (for the oldest reason), and my settlement was pitiful. In fact, Ehrmann encouraged me to settle for $25,000 and his fees ended up being over $17,000. For these and other substantial reasons, I ended up filing a formal grievance with the North Carolina Bar.

Professional work done without inconvenience. It doesn’t get any better.
