I worked with James Minick on a real estate transaction, and I can say there's not a nicer guy around. Not only was he courteous, but he knows how to communicate promptly and honestly. Less than a year ago we approached Lakota Denton for legal assistance with a difficult Workers' Compensation claim involving a complex occupational disease that my partner developed as a result of the labor he did and the work load he maintained for eight years at his former Job. His employer had refused to recognize his illness as work related, so we proceeded by seeking legal council at Minick Law and we are truly thankful that we did. Lakotas' professionalism and intelligence, though remarkable, are hardly his best attributes. He is kind and personable which is rare in his field, but above all he is diligent and dedicated to protecting the rights of his clients whomever they may be. Though aspects of our case were tedious and often frustrating, he never ceased to be reassuring, calm and confident. The litigation that Lakota and his team built and brought forth to the opposing council allowed us to settle our claim without going to court for a sum we were very satisfied with. James Minick is an excellent lawyer and helped me fight my dwi case in Asheville. I got charged in 2012. The process was long-- the state DA continued my case numerous times-- and Mr. Minick was there with me each time to represent me. From the beginning he was extremely helpful, professional, and informative with my case and was confident he could prove me not guilty. His entire Minick Law team was friendly and always available to me. The case finally went to trial recently in 2015 and he tried to keep me as confident as I could be. During the trial James Minick proved me not guilty of my DWI case. After being told by other law firms I visited before going to Minick Law that it could not be proven not guilty and to just plead guilty, I am extremely glad I visited Mr. Minick instead. He also cut me a deal because I am a college student even though he came to court more than a dozen times with me. I highly recommend James Minick and his team for any legal issues.

I was falsely accused of DWI last July simply for failure to burn headlamps at night. I am 62 years old and this is the first time I have ever had an encounter with a law officer in which I had to perform field sobriety tests. This officer was aggressively seeking an arrest. After passing the Breath Test and, in my opinion, the field tests, I was STILL arrested and charged. I was devastated. James Minick was the only lawyer of the four I interviewed to confidently tell me we had a good chance of getting a not guilty verdict. To our surprise, we lost our District court case. Mr. Minick knew this was an injustice and encouraged me to appeal to Superior Court. It was long and grueling but we won my case in front of a Jury. NOT GUILTY!!! James Minick is an extremely talented lawyer. He knows DWI law. His expertise and ability to challenge unfairness in law enforcement is simply amazing! I would encourage anyone charged with DWI offense to call James Minick at Minick Law.
