I reached out to Amy Privette, attorney in Cary, NC, for help when a family member died and I needed legal advice and guidance. After a phone consultation, I was very impressed by her professionalism, empathy and willingness to help me through this process. After hiring her, she has continued to respond quickly to any emails and correspondence. She has offered valuable advice, offered several options for handling matters while giving me the knowledge of various outcomes for choices I might make. She continues to offer that unfailing desire to help, encouragement through some of my most trying days and has been a blessing throughout this journey. I would highly recommend her based on my own personal experience.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Attorney Amy Privette! My husband died unexpectedly earlier this year from a heart attack. He was only 42 and we have 3 young children. I contacted Amy immediately and not only was she able to help me get my husband's affairs in order, she assisted me in making a plan for my children and their well-being should something happen to me! That gave my entire family peace of mind. It's always difficult when you lose someone you love. I am just so grateful that Amy was there for me every step of the way! I cannot thank her enough!

Ms. Privette recently completed estate planning documents for me, and three other members of my family. While I can't claim to have enjoyed the process, Ms. Privette did an excellent job of making it understandable, simple and pleasant. Her professionalism, knowledge and demeanor insured that we were all comfortable with our final decisions, and she was thoroughly competent in explaining each step of the process. I highly recommend Ms. Privette to anyone searching for an attorney to complete estate planning documents.

Amy and I are currently working on my estate documents. We have some documents nearly finished, and there are others that we are beginning to address, along with the adjunct plans and considerations that will most easily permit the intent of my estate documents to be accomplished. The process has been difficult for me, as I would expect that it would be for most people. Dealing with the matters of my own mortality has required concerted thought, great effort, and deep reflection. I’ve cried a lot of tears. Some days I’ve had to just stop dealing with estate decisions for a while, coming back later to go further. I have had to say to Amy, “I just can’t do this right now,” and each time, her reply has been, “What can I do to make your way lighter?” We have now met three times; we’ve exchanged documents by email for my review and comments; we’ve spoken on the phone to address other matters. In our work, I have explained issues that are important to me, and Amy has grasped my thoughts and then been able to develop the language to appropriately incorporate my thoughts into my documents. As we have looked at important end-of-life wishes that we found to be unworkable, she has addressed the “unworkable segments” of the situation and re-addressed the matter for me. When we have found that other matters simply cannot be accomplished, she has helped me identify alternatives. As we have gone through troublesome legal language, she has said, more than once, and without rushing me, “Now, I want you to understand and be comfortable with this. Are you all right with this?” Through my experience, I can state, without reservation, that in my work with Amy, she has unquestionably demonstrated her skill and proficiency in estate law, yet she has gone further still, to couch her legal abilities in her personal concern for me and her understanding of my situation, while providing the support that I have needed to press forward to get these plans responsibly in place. Her practice is not a practice where routine forms are just printed, signed, and set aside, but instead, a practice that is based on the importance of developing substantial trust and relationship with her clients.
