After 25 years of marriage (2 physician household), 2 mortgages and houses, furniture, jewelry, a software start up and investments, I received 40 thousand dollars and my retirement (which came out of my paycheck). I ended up paying for 518,000 dollars of my spouse’s personal debt. When I asked why I had to pay for this the opposing attorney shot me down and Christie said nothing. She later sent me an email stating that she suggested not paying for this debt and said that I said I didn’t want the money. She stated that I said I didn’t want 518,000 dollars. My spouse got the house (2,,000,000 dollars), all payments toward principle (1.4 million dollars), all monies spent upgrading the house after initial purchase (over 200,000 dollars), all jewelry (except my moms engagement ring) all furniture, country club membership, paintings, portraits of children, car.
As a final insult she told me to be thankful that I was able to keep my retirement (my spouse kept their’s and makes almost twice as much as I do). I am also required to pay 4000 dollars per month for child support.
All information in this is factual and can be documented. I made a mistake hiring her. She prioritized getting along and giving in over advocating for her client.
