My wife and I could not be more grateful for Jennifer and Village Law Group. Being an LGBT family, my wife's adoption process for our son was daunting, but also extremely important for the safety and security of our family. Jennifer understood that right out of the gate. She and the team were consistent advocates and cheerleaders for us and our son. She was incredibly knowledgeable, answered any questions we had, and made what could have been an extremely stressful process feel like a breeze. As my wife and I plan to continue expanding our family in the future, I know we will be calling Jennifer again.

When we began our gestational surrogacy journey, we were recommended Village Law Group and we could not have been happier. The entire operation from top to bottom is top notch. There was a rigorous screening service to find surrogates that had at least one child before and a thorough psychological evaluation. This was to make sure there would be a seamless transition to getting your kid after birth without any legal complications. They expertly matched our personality and values with a surrogate that shared those same qualities. You could tell they put thought into finding us the right person. They facilitated the introduction and let us contact the surrogate to get to know them better. Once both sides choose each other, you then go into the contract phase. The guidance on writing up the contract and representing us through the whole process was excellent. Jennifer Tharrington made sure all of our concerns were addressed within the contract and helped us through the negotiation phase. As you can imagine, with this happening in the middle of the pandemic, the contract had to have some extra conditions. To go a step further, they checked in on us from time to time even when their portion of the journey was done. I cannot say enough kind things about this group. If you embark on your own surrogacy journey, I highly recommend using them.

My husband and I used Jennifer Tharrington to draft our surrogacy agreement with our gestational carrier in North Carolina. We also used her to establish our Pre-Birth Order. Being from New York, we found Jennifer to be extremely knowledgeable in the reproductive laws of NC. We interviewed several well-established lawyers in NC to use for our contract and PBO, but there was something special about Jennifer’s manner, knowledge, and responsiveness that put us at ease and confident in her abilities. She also just seemed like a wonderful person, which was important to us too. Surrogacy is already an overwhelming process, so we wanted an attorney who was top notch, responsive, and on top of everything. She drafted our contract within a week. She also spent many hours on the phone reviewing our contract with us line-by-line, answered our 100’s of questions, and made requested changes immediately. Our surrogacy contract was written during the pandemic, and we were beyond impressed with the covid language she put into our contract. Our Pre-Birth Order was done promptly/earlier than anticipated. Jennifer’s assistant, Amy, is also wonderful. She and Jennifer frequently checked on us prior to our embryo transfers, answers all our questions, and kept us in the loop throughout every stage. They told us exactly what to do, and when to do it. As a team, they’re courteous, prompt, responsible, knowledgeable, and extremely organized. While we are still anticipating our first child’s arrival as I write this, I’m happy I have Jennifer should any legal obstacles arise surrounding his birth. I highly recommend Jennifer and her team to everyone!

Starting a family, while beautiful, can often be messy and stressful in the early stages.
