I would not consider hiring a lawyer besides Mr. Winiker. I spent nine and a half years in the Feds, the last six of which I was held indefinitely - without a release date. Over the years, several lawyers jumped on and off of my case. All of them were more well-known, far more expensive than Mr. Winiker, and they accomplished nothing. Mr. Winiker handled myself (I'm not easy to work with), my family, the court, and the prosecution with the utmost professionalism, attention, and competence at every step. Most importantly, he accomplished what many would have thought impossible. Mr. Winiker had me free in very little time. I spent nearly a decade reading cases in prison. I am doubtful that another lawyer like Mr. Winiker can still be found in the federal system, at any price. It is unlikely that my co-defendant and I would have spent a day in prison if we had known Mr. Winiker from the start.
