I hired Jana to represent me in a high conflict child custody issue. I made it clear that all I wanted from her was to make sure I wasn’t getting taken advantage of, and that I was only seeking the “normal” rights that a father is entitled to in North Carolina. This was my first time ever being in this situation, so I had no idea what was “normal” or not. Jana advised me that the Consent Order I was signing was pretty straight forward. Only to find out that the consent order was essentially stripping me of all my power and leaving me with no “say” in my daughters life. Now I have hired a new attorney to hopefully try and get me out of this horrible situation. My new attorneys first questions to me were, “are you on drugs?” “Do you have a criminal record?” “Do you have a history of domestic violence?” “Do you have prior DWI’s/DUI’s?” “Have you been to prison?” To which all of these questions, the answer is no. When I asked why she was asking me this, my current attorney stated that my current consent order is the most restricted one she’s seen. Because of that, she assumed I was on drugs, or had a troubled past. It’s so crazy to think I paid an attorney to essentially put me in an awful position. If anyone is in a “high conflict” custody dispute, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I wouldn’t wish this on any parent who’s trying to take an active role in their child’s life.

Mrs. Jones represented me in a CS case and she delivered what she promised. I remembered when I first interviewed her, I knew she would do a good job. However, she didn’t do a good job, she did an excellent job representing me. She responded all my emails in a timely manner, her assistant was always there with reminders and more. I worked with another lawyer before her and I learned how hard is to find a good family lawyer. Particularly those on the side of the father and I strongly recommend Jana Jones. You will not regret hiring her, she is very knowledgeable and she will have your best interest in mind when going to court. She know her way around the court and knows exactly how to address toughest judges. Bottom line…. She is really good One more thing and most important… when it comes to legal services… she is fair when it comes to her fees. You will not have any billing surprises, if you used legal services before you would know what I am talking about it. She is there to do the job, not to get your money.
