I feel quite blessed. I was literally in the last few days before my right to file would have expired. I met with Martha Ramsay 2 months after my accident at work. My condition was worsening even though I was under the care of a worker's comp doctor. I was new to this whole process; she had great online reviews so I figured, I would seek her legal advice. I drove to Ms. Ramsay's office for a consultation. She looked over my MRI report and stated to me, she had read several medical reports and represented several professional football players so she was very knowledgeable when it came to medical terms, and after looking over my report, she didnt see anything to be alarmed about. She also stated, that because I only worked part time with this employer, and did not make that much per hour, my case was not worth enough for her to represent me. She was very nice and professional, but I just left her office feeling like, wow! She really could have told me this over the phone, I drove pretty far to met with her at the office. Now that I've been dealing with these crooked worker's comp doctor's and see first hand how they dismiss serious injuries, I'm shocked any lawyer that claims to have medical knowledge would believe anything that comes from the office of a wc doctor's. This system is a joke! Thank God for attorneys that represent the little guys.

The workers comp laws in NC favor the businesses, not the employee. The process of just getting real doctor appointments was slow, most employers did not know the rules. Once I hired Ms Ramsay and her staff I was looked at as serious and things started to proceed faster, getting several specialists and doctors to look at my injury seriously, exhausting all avenues of pain management, finally leading to surgery. Although my mediation was grueling and very emotional because of the laws here, I know that I could not have been in better hands.
