I was unable to renew my MD license due to a mandatory appearance ticket for 16 over in NC that I had neglected. Being that first available court appearance times were 1.5 months away, I was in need of assistance ASAP. On my first call to DTL, I was able to speak to Sam Dixon who was friendly and knowledgeable with an attentive team behind him. He broke down the game plan to negotiate with the state's attorney's office and was told they'd make best efforts to get my case taken care of by end of week. After payment, my case was resolved within 2.5 hrs. This was above and beyond my expectations. Now, I don't agree with the way NC is handling these traffic tickets, forcing a tourist to drive 6.5 hours to appear in court for a speeding ticket with no option for virtual appearance. None the less, Sam was able to make this go away within 2.5 hours. It pays to have someone with Sam's expertise and stature. I'm very happy I chose DTL. Based on brief research, Sam's fees were in line with the going rate for NC's mandatory appearance tickets. I would recommend them as your first and only call.

While driving through a rural portion of Eastern North Carolina I picked up a speeding ticket, the first one in over 20 years. I wasn’t familiar with the area and I’m sure my out of state license plate didn’t do me any favors. I contacted Dixon & Thompson for representation and to see if there was a way to mitigate the ticket. Sure enough, about 3 weeks later I was notified that my speeding ticket had been reduced to a lower violation, and that I’ll avoid points on my license and likely surcharges on my vehicle insurance rates over the next several years.
