So, first off, I'm a veteran claimant. I worked with Mr. Stevens & Mr. Shelton. I never had the pleasure to meet them. Everything was done over the phone & email. In my first (only, I normally communicated with Mr. Shelton. Great guy, BTW.) conversation with Mr. Stevens, I asked him if we could win. He told me in no uneven terms, "We wouldn't be talking if I didn’t think we could." Now, some of you might think that response isn't befitting of an attorney. Me, on the other hand, I PREFER BLUNT ANSWERS!! When I tell you they are hungry, PITBULLS (as in they don't let go of the VA once they sink their teeth in), please believe me! I went from being stuck at a low percentage for several years before calling them to %80, with backpay backdated to when I first submitted my claim years, yes years, ago. Then, to my surprise, they turned around and got me P&T from my last date of employment!! At first, I was using those mail-in services to fight for my benefits. I went through 3 of those without any improvements. In hindsight, I wish I had called Dueterman first! My VA letters went from "There is no evidence of such & such in your record" to "We are working on your claim and we see here where you claimed this condition in service & we see here that this issue started during your deployment." & all I had to do was go to my exams, tell the truth, and wait on the VA. I know everyone isn't going to have an ending like mine, but your chances are greatly improved with Deuterman in your corner.

They are still working on my claim for military disability. So far they have been AWESOME and I highly recommend this lawfirm.

I highly recommend this law firm if you have questions and need a paralegal with patience to answer them. They go above and beyond to ensure you understand the legal process. Ensure moving forward makes sense for your case from their perspective. Gives you a chance to decide if it is a road you want to go down. They do not give you any information specifically to guide you - I was anxious because I felt I wasn’t given any tips other than be yourself and tell the truth- your records speak for themselves. However in terms of collecting, organizing , communicating and making sure you understand the law and aren’t anxious about the process they (the paralegal, her staff, coworkers when she was on vacation and the lawyer) were always a phone call away , calm , kind , patient and caring . In the end the Judge was fair thanks to the organization of the team .
