Absolutely horrible. Hard pressed to even show up for a court date, let alone no responses to voicemail or texts. Feel like he has no heart in what he does and treats a client as a number and a paycheck. Would recommend anyone use Stephanie McKeon who puts her heart and soul into it and treats you like a human being and not just there to collect a fee.

Absolutely the worst. This public pretender is a joke. Law malpractice is his specialty! I went to his office with proof. He shunned me away. He also blocked my number when I never bothered him for months until days before my court date. Dog water of a lawyer. Go with Beverly Cook. You can even request more time after the first continuance, for 6-8 more weeks to help pay for a private attorney. This guy will make sure you lose.

Mr. Cowart was very knowledgeable, caring and passionate about my case. He did an outstanding job. I would recommend him .

Horrible person and worse attorney.!! This man was not only useless but rude.

As a legal guardian, you are issued responsibilities. My son is mentally disabled; is not being properly medicated while there. This attorney, who knows nothing of his disorders, generalizes everyone into the same basket. Was asked to call him by my son due to depression. Had been clean for two years, but relapsed. When I was called to come get him, I refused and told them to put in jail. We even have a state forensic psychiatric evaluation showing he is not competent to stand trial unless properly medicated. The attorney’s comments demonstrates absolutely no willingness to even address a case as an individual at all. He’s just putting in his time for a paycheck.

Will not reply to calls or emails. Unwilling to help his clients.

Mr Cowart did absolutely nothing in my case except he told me to sit down,shut up,and stop shaking my head.I was never given my right to testify on my behalf.He refused to obtain confirmed DSS reports on the mother.He never cross examined my lying ex husband .He never gave me the opportunity to present any evidence at all regarding jurisdiction,and clearing me of the allegations against me.The case was never adjudicated or dispositioned. There was an ex parte communication between the judge and a Virginia judge regarding jurisdiction.They decided Virginia had jurisdiction but they did not by state and federal UCCJJEA. They transferred the child from foster care to Virginia and into the custody of the South Carolina mother before DSS informed of the phone call results.Mr Cowart hung up on me and never picked up another call from me beginning 13 days before the custody hearing in Virginia.I was never served a summons for that hearing.The whereabouts,health and safety of the child is unknown and a high risk.I have since learned that Mr Cowart is an employee of Haywood Dept of Social Services.He had only been licensed for two years.His experience is unknown .Definately a conflict of interest and part of the conspiracy in this case.Don't hire him, he is useless,biased,unprofessional, and unethical!!!
